Dodgers Start Seven-Game Homestand Against Florida
John Ely has allowed one earned run in seven innings in each of his last two starts. He looks to make it three in a row, against the Marlins.
Nate Robertson has faced the Dodgers twice in his career. He pitched six scoreless innings in a win in 2008, and allowed four runs in five innings in a no-decision in 2005. He has allowed nine runs in 8 1/3 innings over his last two starts.
Casey Blake has 11 hits in 33 at-bats against the southpaw, with six home runs. Ronnie Belliard is hitting .320/.433/.480 in 30 plate appearances against Robertson, while lefty killer Reed Johnson is just two for 16.
Tonight is an early start, with fireworks after the game.

I know that some on here don't care about the All Star game, so this post will suck to you.
And that is completely cool. But some may like this. I want to know who your All Star team starters with a DH. I went through the numbers for a few minutes and this is the team I compiled. Note: I picked as though I had no idea who the players were and just went by the numbers, mainly OPS. I know I will get those who say I am dumb, and they are tight as well. Just want to see what you guys come up with. Putting the best 8 + DH regardless of name or fan vote.
C- Olivo
1B- Votto
2B- Phillips
3B- Wright
SS- Ramirez
OF- Ethier
OF- Hart
OF- Willingham
DH- Pujols
Alright, here is my shot:
C – McCann
1B – Votto
2B – Martin Prado
3B – Wright
SS – Ramirez
OF – Ethier
OF – Hart
OF – Aubrey Huff (he’s been clutch, walks less than Willingham but strikes out a lot less and has statistically been a better slugger)
DH – Pujols
I'd go with
C- Olivo
1B- Pujols
2B- Prado
3B- Wright
SS- Ramirez
OF- Ethier
OF- Carlos Gonzalez
OF- Willingham
DH- Votto
And just for kicks…
SP- Josh Johnson
CL- Broxton

DH on All Star NL team
Although it’s been known forever that this year’s AS game is being played in an AL stadium, and therefore that a DH will be required, of course no DH has been selected. Is it just standard practice, then, that the manager chooses DHs from the reserves, probably fetching a new one every couple of innings? (And what happens when they play in an NL park – the AL DH just sits on the bench until used to pinch hit one AB?) So, by and large, more reserves get to play when the game is in an AL park?
The Dodgers are playing 7 games against Florida?
Gotta be a record
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man
I find it strange that the Dodgers have played every team in the NL except the Phillies. And they wont play them until August 10th.
Last year
Dodgers didn’t play the Pirates until September. They play the Reds 9 times, Cardinals 7 times, Cubs 7 times, Brewers 6 times, Pirates 7 times and Astros 6 times. In the East, they play the Braves 8 times, Mets 7 times, Phillies 6 times, Marlins 6 times and Nationals 6 times.

Gary "Sarge" Matthews is 60 today!
I remember him when I was a kid. That reminds me I’m not getting any younger.
