MiLB Dodger Review 7/7/10 - Ausmus on rehab - Wall Dominates

Brad Ausmus started his rehab by playing DH last night for the Inland Empire team. Looks like AJ Ellis time with the big club will be coming to an end very shortly.

AAA  –Isotopes lose 9 - 1 as Claudio Vargas was run up the flagpole to the tune of seven runs in three innings. Lindblom continued to struggle giving up two runs, three hits in one inning. Given the report of his velocity being down, I'd say this has been a lost year for him. With Elbert MIA, and Lindblom having trouble, those are two trade chips that are now useless.

AA –Blevins is now in AA and while the results were better in AA then they were in AAA he still lost 8 - 2. Not one XBH was forthcoming from the Lookouts last night, but they did manage to slash out 10 singles including a two run RBI single from Lambo. It was his only hit on the night. Sands collected two singles.

High A – Will Savage with a 2 - 1 victory continues to build on his fine comeback season. Smit collected his fifth save with a scoreless ninth.

A –Loons win behind the excellent pitching of Josh Wall. WIth each game Wall seems to be getting better and better. Maybe he will find himself in AA sometime this summer. He pitched a complete game shutout, giving up only three hits, three walks, and six strikeouts. Wall has not gone less then six innings since May 23rd.  The 1,2, and 3 hitters (Bush, Ynoa, Songco) all had three hits, the 4,5,6, and 7 hitters (Smith, Ortiz, Galvez, Ruggiano) all had two hits as the offense banged out 19 hits and 8 runs. Ynoa, Smith, and Galvez are on fire in July.

Rookie Ogden –Carlos Frias had his second solid game in a row leading the Raptors to a 9 - 2 victory. The offense was once again led by DH Pericht who slugged his seventh home run of the year. Lemmerman collected three hits, as did Jesse Bosnick and Steve Domecus.

Rookie Arizona Dodgers win 9 - 8, Enily Morales had three hits and Akins hit another home run. It is simply ridic that Akins is in this league, and not much of a confidence booster to him that the Dodgers have him at this level.
