Hey, folks!
Very funny – I turned on the game last inning, and got to yell, “Safe!” on Theriot’s slide. Then my wife, spending time on Facebook, says that a friend of hers wrote “I guess that slide showed who I’m rooting for in a Phillies household.” Then I come on here, and start laughing about the thread title, which i showed to my wife. Very cool.

This is late but…BISON SLAM
Adam Morrison has more rings than Lebron, Bosh, and Wade combined?
Looking back at the Kemp home run, it was a very Manny like approach. He guessed inside fastball, opened up and got his hands through. If he had a different approach (take the ball to right, etc), there is no way he gets to that ball. I do like guessing on the first pitch and going after it if you guess right. If not, just let it go and then settle in to the ab.
I am so late getting back
Shit… Yay Bison

…but this game was lost by Bellisario
If you also show no command, been overused, and showing dminished stuff because your manager abused you, you don't get the closer treatment as well.
He was at 97-8 on the fastball. He has been rested. He just fucking stunk and theres not excuse for that. Its one thing to throw strikes and get hit. its another to walk the first 2 guys up by 3 runs. Unacceptable

9 – 6 lead, 9th inning. This has nothing to do with Belisario. Broxton has one job, pitch in the 9th with a lead, protect the lead. Never blow a three run lead.

this game is the image of our season … That is to say, catastrophic … Our leaders are missing … The only one not to blame tonight is Kemp (for once) … Decidedly, Broxton hate Philadelphia …
After the game, some questions need to be performed:
1 / Should Broxton remain our closer?
2 / Belisario Is he not return too soon?
3 / Why do not you use Dotel instead of Belisario?
4 / Kuo Must be the new closer?
5 / Can we finally forget about this season and think about 2011?
Louise Bourgoin: The hottest French actress I've ever seen <3
Turned it off at 9-2 after the top of the eighth
Saw that it was 9-6 with two and no one out in the ninth. Watched the final few batters. I don’t know if the season’s over, but 9 back in the division and 6.5 in the wild card doesn’t seem to be overcome-able with this team.
It isnt. The team was done before tonight, but this just puts the exclamation point on it.
by UCLADodger32 on Aug 12, 2010 7:57 PM PDT up reply actions
For whatever reason, Broxton's command is fucked.
Just DL him and save him from Torre and try again in 2011
You can blame Sherrill. Since he walked Rollins, that forced him to face another batter, to get the last out of the 8th. All of that ended up causing some time warp continuum in where Baez only faced 3 hitters and Broxton collapsed throughout the 9th.
So, yes, you can blame Sherrill. There are plenty of people here that could, easy scapegoat.

this game reminds me strangely of a final Champions League Soccer between AC Milan and Liverpool in 2005 … Exactly the same scenario … AC Milan leading 3-0 at halftime and all of a sudden Liverpool scores 3 goals in the second half in just 6 minutes … As if they were transcended by the challenge … And finally Liverpool win on penalties, as a sign of destiny …
If you can watch some videos of this game… Do it!!!!
Louise Bourgoin: The hottest French actress I've ever seen <3
broxton has zero command
Couldnt throw a strike for shit or get a batter out. Make him do some work in the minors and bring him back up. The season is practically over anyway.
Adam Morrison has more rings than Lebron, Bosh, and Wade combined?
Heh, even my son asked, "How did we lose?"
And, he’s 5! It’s incomprehensible even to him.

I would say because the Phillies could hit
but I’m thinking of the Phillies from the World Series/NLCS
Should be pretty easy to bring back the stock
Dodgers fucking choke 2010 column, several to pick from
Me too.
He also has to do it for SB Nation LA.

I thought the inside the park home run the other night
would be the lowpoint of the season, but this makes that look like a minor error
that game was already decided when it happened
this and the yankees loss are the low points of the season
Adam Morrison has more rings than Lebron, Bosh, and Wade combined?
Fuck these piece of shit Dodgers, no fucking team should lose a game with a 7 run lead in the 8th fucking inning. Fuck this team.
"Stop exploding you cowards!!!"
Meh...
I lost most of my anger against the Yankees.
I was angry today, but simmered down when I realized reality even before this game.

This is why I find it incredibly fucking stupid
to manage differently when you have a lead vs. a close game.
Bellisario was getting his Spring training in.
I should correct myself
Fuck Broxton and Belasario, what a shit night from them. Broxton’s been shit for a solid month now, and Belasario has hurt this team (doesn’t matter the reasoning, not getting into that) by being gone for about a month, and comes back and in his second (possibly third) appearance back, big surprise, he gets into huge trouble. Luckily he had Jansen, Blake, and Sherrill (lol at him being so much better than Belasario and Broxton lately) bail him out.
U.G.H.
"Stop exploding you cowards!!!"
At least Matt Kemp isn't to blame tonight!
WOOOOOOOOOO!
its gonna be dodgers need a new closer talk/ columns tomorrow
Broxtons command is shit right now. gotta send him to do some work in the minors.
Adam Morrison has more rings than Lebron, Bosh, and Wade combined?
Really, the worst part of this is that the Philly lineup has 2 or 3 legit major league hitters in it right now. And they just kept scoring and scoring and scoring.
I stopped watching this game at the start of the bottom of the 8th
Again, fuck this team.
You know what else? Fuck Broxton too. What the fuck is wrong with him? He’s had maybe 4 or 5 good appearances since the start of July. Jesus Christ.
I seriously cannot believe I came to check and see the final score and I see that we fucking lost. Fuck this.
"Stop exploding you cowards!!!"
So since this season is technically over..
Joe Torre might retire… and who do we get? Don F’ing Mattingly who doesn’t know how to make proper mound visit and we also have ownership that is just pure fucked up, so…. hm…
It went from great game to shitty game in two innings. Not a world series team but we may still make playoffs. The window is shrinking. Time for some beers and wait for tomorrow and the braves.
