Bark in the Park Night
is in the all you can eat pavillion. This sounds like a recipe for hilarious disaster
http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/la/ticketing/barkpark.jsp
Man my dogs could not handle that.
Have you ever tried just turning off the TV, sitting down with your children, and hitting them?
Can you imagine if a bunch of dogs ran on the field during a game. PETA would be all over that if the dogs got tasered.
That would make me sad
my hilarity was more from the idea of no one being able to eat their food without a dog getting all up in their business.
Have you ever tried just turning off the TV, sitting down with your children, and hitting them?
PRICE:
Human $25: All-You-Can-Eat RF Pavilion ticket that includes unlimited Dodger Dogs, nachos, peanuts, popcorn, Coke products, and water
Dog $25: includes ticket to the RF Pavilion, Dog Goody Bag, and participation in the pup rally and parade
Love that the prices are equal.
How many poop bags will be handed out for the all you can eat dog food?

Poop bags
aren’t going to be able to handle the bowel movements these dogs will have after eating nachos, popcorn and hot dogs

Depends
on whether it’s a black dog or a white dog.

I hate that kid….only cause I know how awesome that feeling is as a home fan to see the walk off.

How much Torre overvalues closers
But Torre also said he expected Broxton to reclaim the closer role.
“Absolutely,” Torre said. "He was the All-Star closer, for crying out loud. He’s the reason the National League will have the home-field advantage

Best part of that

Of course. I love people in the MSM. I really wonder how they come to believe this kind of shit. I mean, seriously. Does he really think Heyward will cower under the pressure of batting third in a random game in early August? Stupidity just amazes me.

I assume the Dodger OF plays Glaus as a dead pull hitter
so of course Kuroda’s pitch is a low outside strike and Glaus’ hits it to the RCF gap. Great.

They haven’t talked to him at all. Now they expect him to make a life-changing decision in 48 hours?
I was on a plane once with a player’s mother. She told me they spent weeks agonizing over whether to let him sign out of high school. They had to get input from financial advisers about taxes & investing the money in case his career didn’t pan out; they had to talk to the college that he had committed to…. it just can’t be done in 48 hours.
People don't think it be like this, but it do.
The family knew he could be drafted and could be offered substantial money to sign
They should have been doing that research all along, long before the draft, let alone a contract offer. The scenarios are the same, all that changes are the exact numbers.
The commenter formerly known as El Lay Dave.
the Dodgers didn’t believe any other player available was worth the slot amount in what experts agree was a thin draft.
…
Another source said McCourt was told before Lee was chosen that he would be criticized, and the owner gave the green light anyway.

Torre, Kemp & Broxton
I’ve been offline all day so this may have been covered, but I find it perplexing how Torre handled the Broxton closer situation so differently from the Kemp benching situation.
W/Broxton, it sounds like he talked to him and then let people know the situation. With Kemp he stayed quiet and made Kemp come to him. Why the difference? Neither situation is what the player wanted, but at least w/Brox he treated him like an adult and with some respect.
Just scratching my head on this one…any ideas?
my only guess is that
the Kemp situation also has something to do with effort and attitude
not much you can with Broxton, he tried his best, he is either hurt or just has a habit of choking
