MiLB Dodger Recap 08/14/10

AAA Seth Etherton is sadly the best pitcher on the Isotope team. He just pitched his second great game in a row, which even more sadly might be a record for Isotope pitchers this year. James Mr Pittsburgh McDonald certainly never did this shit for the Isotopes. Isotope's won 5 - 1 with DeJesus getting two hits, driving in three runs.

AA – Lookouts lose 3 - 2 but Javier Solano struck out the side in his one inning of relief work. Sands had three hits for the 2nd time in three games, while Trayvon Robinson got on base three times with two singles and one walk. That would be Trayvon's 12th walk in his last 48 plate appearances. Kyle Russell also had two more hits.

High A – What a surprise the 66ers got hammered 12 - 5.

A – We go from worst team in the minor leagues to the best team and not surprising the Loons won 10 - 5. Rafael Ynoa continues to play his way into my heart with another great performance. Ynoa had three hits, his 7th of the year, driving in four runs. Blake Smith blasted his 17th home run.

Rookie Ogden – Raptors win 7 - 5 despite making four errors. Gould started went four 2/3 innings giving up only one earned runs but his relief help was awesome. Tolleson nailed his 15th save but Peter Budkevics was the hero with three innings of shutout relief.  Lemmerman had three hits along with Demecus. Garcia had two hits.

Rookie Arizona Dodgers won 6 - 5.

You kinda winged this one…

Ynoa hit a grand slam and AZL Dodgers won on a walk off shot by Cilladi, who entered the game in the 9th after the starter was pinch ran for.

Brandon will give you more detail about Arizona on his reports

I don’t particularly care about that level. You may or may not have noticed I don’t cover the DSL at all. I actually don’t start getting interested in players until they hit A ball unless they are a teen agers ala Garcia this year, and Webster last year. With the year in, my reports are pretty much only going to consist of players who I consider prospects. We provide the box scores every day for you to check out yourselves.

Ah, I see.

In case anyone is interested, AZL Dodgers have won 6 in a row and are 9-2 in August. 4 of those August wins were won in the 9th inning. A bit of the comeback kids routine.

Older players destroying inferior competition, generally. :o

For the most part the pitchers

are age appropriate. All these guys who are slugging for the Loons (Songco, Smith, Galvez) were all drafted in 2009 so they are right where they should be.

Smith has been very good this year

It’s been so great to see him doing so well after struggling so much last year. 3 of our 4 best AA position prospects looked like they had tremendous games yesterday, that group is looking better and better every day.
