you're welcome
I like kids(hopefully that sounds non-creepy). I have two nephews(one step, but i only say that for technical purposes). They are great, big Dodger fans, love sports. My bro is just ecstatic.

She's pretty cool
When I am watching any baseball game
She comes in the room and yells “GOOOOOOO DODGERS!!!!!!!”
my heart would melt
if that were my kid. Her next words would be, “Daddy, you’re hugging me too hard.”

Rod Barajas is the only LA Dodger to ever have 3 extra-base hits (two 2B, HR) in his first game with club
Details of the HR? City it landed in?
by Alex41592 on Aug 24, 2010 7:03 PM PDT via mobile reply actions
A.J. Ellis and Brad Ausmus combined for 3 XBH in 133 PA this yr (all doubles); Rod Barajas does it in 3 PA, with a HR!
So
does anyone wonder why the Met’s teammate wanted to join Rod in LA?

Extra base hits from Barajas
At the rate Rod is hitting extra base hits, by mid-September he will have equalled the xtra base hits of all the other Dodger catchers.
Ned magic in August again?
Will Rod usurp Marlon as the greatest Dodger ever?
For Johnny Nunez, Victor Garate, and Cash
the Dodgers have gotten
Magic Marlon Anderson
Belly Up Bellaird
Rod no singles for me motherfucker Barajas

How many times have you seen a guy make a great play in the field and then make a big play with the bat?
my cousin and I, invariably, whenever anyone makes a great play, then leads off the next inning, say “How many times do you see it?…”
by Eric Stephen on Aug 24, 2010 7:19 PM PDT up reply actions
His timing is always a problem. When he got hurt the first time he was locked in. It’s going to take time. By the time he comes around he’ll probably be gone.

Rod Barajas' Wikipedia was updated in real time?
Those anonymous editors are quick:
In his first game with Los Angeles against the Milwaukee Brewers, Barajas hit two doubles and a three-run home run. Barajas became the first Dodger to hit three extra-base hits in his first game with the club.

LA Dodgers with exactly 3 XBH in a game: 126 (including Barajas)
LA Dodgers with exactly 4 XBH in a game: 4
LA Dodgers with exactly 5 XBH in a game: 2 (Garvey, Green)

Jon Heyman claims:
• Expect Manny Ramirez to be claimed by some team when he likely goes on waivers before the Aug. 31 waiver deadline. “He can still swing the bat,” one scout said. He just got back from the disabled list for the Dodgers, but he may prefer to DH at this point. The White Sox were interested before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, are still very much in the race and feel they still need a hitter for the middle of their order. The sides didn’t come close to working out a deal last time (a person with ties to the Sox said they made two offers and received no counters, but the Dodgers apparently didn’t like the idea of paying most of the money when they were in the thick of the race). The Dodgers have fallen back a bit now, and a waiver claim would save them more than $3 million.

Manny news from Heyman
- A person connected to the White Sox says the team offered the Dodgers two proposals for Manny Ramirez at the end of July, but received no counter-offers. Ken Rosenthal reported today that the White Sox will claim Manny if he reaches them on waivers.
by lakersdodgersyankees4life on Aug 24, 2010 7:38 PM PDT reply actions
mouse-clicking fail
I kind of wonder if the offer was more legitimite than we were led to believe at the time, and Ned downplayed it, as he refused to acknowledge that the Dodgers would be sellers.
possible
We’ll see now. When KW falls for a guy, he can overpay(look at Dan Hudson..) and even Peavy

Is Joe Maddon the best manager in baseball?
He’s batting catcher John Jaso leadoff.
Not many managers would do that no matter how good of OBP a catcher had.
He's good. No doubt about it.
He manages a team with an awesoke pitching staff.
I think Francona is really good.
Anyone hear that heckler? “WHAT ARE YOU, 5’1?!”

Kudos to whoever it was who called a Barajas homer tonight
Not that it’s a huge risk, given the Brewers pitching + ballpark + he has some power… but still, sweet!
That’s looking like a nice pickup, at least based on 1 game, heh.
