With evil Eric Karros in SD calling the game today for Fox, his replacement on the pregame show on KCAL is John Ireland tonight. Ouch.

I swear whenever I play The Show there is one batter I can't do well against, ever

Domonic Brown. He’s a Tiger now, but still, screw all the Phillies so bad.

You can go to the online portion of the game and you can download current rosters, and there is also this thing called Roster Vault where people make their own rosters and upload them to it so other’s can download it. There are like 100 pages of rosters (kind of a bitch actually), but a lot of people do rosters with a ton of prospects on them.

Wtf

Kershaw is still at 3.7 WAR after last night’s game. He was at 3.7 before that game. I don’t understand why that wouldn’t have gone up at all after having such a brilliant game last night?

I wouldn't worry about it

They may not have updated everything yet. It happens.

by Eric Stephen on Aug 28, 2010 5:10 PM PDT up reply actions

I think you may be right, because the only bad thing he did was allow 1 homerun, but FIP punishes homeruns allowed quite a bit, so that might have done him in…It does make more sense that it hasnt been updated yet, though.

They rarely do work on the weekends so that could be it. Sadly one of my biggest joys for a Kershaw start is getting to see his numbers the day after the start, haha.

Regarding the Manny waiver trade possibilities

Does whoever they will be trading us have to pass through waivers as well? And could anyone be added to our side of the trade to go along with Manny, and would they have to have passed through waivers as well?

While I do love, love, love the Caesars Palace commercial

How is this guy getting all of these things without his wallet or any ID? I mean, I get that you can give them your room number, but I’d like to think at some point there might have been a discriminating eye.

Or, when they asked him, and he explained the situation, they would have arranged with the front desk for him to get a new room key.

Still, I’d like to think if that commercial was 45 seconds instead of 30, it would just the dude and his new lady friend just going to town in the hallway.

A classic Jim Tracy response

to his 8th inning last night, from the Denver Post:

Ethier is a .236 hitter vs. left-handers, .324 vs. right-handers. Tracy had lefty Joe Beimel, who had limited left-handed hitters to a .176 batting average, ready in the bullpen, but elected to stick with Jimenez.

"You earn that,’’ Tracy said before Saturday’s game. "There’s a trust factor. I’m seeing a guy still throwing 97 miles an hour, he’s the ace, the mainstay of the staff, and I’m saying to myself, "Do I have anything better down there?’ No disrespect (to the bullpen) because of how special that’s been all year, but do I have 97 miles an hour down there? I don’t think so.’’

I feel like Tracy, even more than Kevin Kennedy, knows that people talk about their malapropisms, and they simply feed into them more and more every day.
