I just realized that the Angels (who just lost again) are 2 games under .500. Plus, they called up Peter Bourjos‎. Which shifted Torii Hunter to right field (!!!). So, um there’s an example of moving a veteran for a youngster. A BIG one.

by Alex41592 on Aug 5, 2010 7:05 PM PDT reply actions

yeah and torii looked bad on some of those plays hit to right

tru dat

Hunter said he welcomed the move in an interview I read this week.

Said anything that makes them better, he is down for….(paraphrasing of course)

by keithc13 on Aug 5, 2010 7:07 PM PDT up reply actions

I just think it’s funny how they think so much of the kid they move Torii Hunter out of center but bat him ninth.

3-0 green light…Headley should have scored easily. Padres playing really conservative station to station ball.

by Joey Joe on Aug 5, 2010 8:03 PM PDT reply actions

Damnit. This is why you cant give team extra outs. that dp had to be turned. Blake and Theriot need to switch on that alignment in that situation. Poor positioning by Torre/Schaefer that has a huge impact on the game.

by UCLADodger32 on Aug 5, 2010 8:04 PM PDT reply actions

I would wager the extra range in Gonzalez’s hit zone is worth the shift.

by Eric Stephen on Aug 5, 2010 8:05 PM PDT up reply actions

I like Blake playing in the right field hole there. He can play deep enough to get extra range and he doesnt have to make the turn or flip on a dp. I just dont like making Blake make a turn at second base, and it completely changed the inning and the game.

I just haven’t called you Four Down in awhile

Hello

Not sure if you remember me. I was here during the postseason last year (along with a couple other Tigers fans). I kept meaning to come back. Just wanted to let you know I still root for the Dodgers when I watch NL games and I’m still hopeful that your guys can make a run.
