Loons bounced from playoffs, Raptors also lose

The great, Great Lake Loon season came to an abrupt end last night when Lake County knocked them out of the playoffs by the score of 6 - 1. For the winning-est team in the minor leagues this was a tough pill to swallow, as they came short of the goal to win the MWL championship. The marvelous Greg Wilborn unlike ex-Loon Clayton Kershaw was unable to make one run stand up.

It was a fabulous year for the Loons and we look forward to the future exploits of Galvez, Wise, Smith, Songo, Webster, Magill, Aames, and Wilborn.

The high octane offense of the Raptors was held to only three hits as they fell to Helena 3 - 2. The vaunted outfield of Landry/Coyle/Garcia/Akins were held hitless for maybe the first game all year as they combined to go 0 - 15. Did Don Mattingly visit them before the game to offer tips?
