Today would be a good forum for frequent posters - lurkers to let us know where they hail from. Use the thread to make it happen. For example I'm from West Fernando Valley, anyone else from that area do a reply.
I know we have one commentator from France, I'd hope we have some folks deployed reading us. If so let us know.

campus is great, but the administration makes life HELL, and the area is a retirement community that is now watched over by 3 police departments. It’s a great location if you want to go visit the surrounding areas, it’s a terrible place to live and to try to get a degree from.

on campus living and the campus itself are great. It’s adjoining to Rancho Cotati High School so the surrounding streets cater to a lot of cheap quick eateries and whatnot, which is nice, but after the first block or two it’s very much a town of apartment complexes and senior living villages. It’s BYOFun or you’re not having any.
Won’t complain about the proximity to SF and Napa though.

Speaking of 1990 Dodgers and the 100th anniversary celebration
back to Silverwidow in the last thread…
in Palm Springs, our local access station, which was channel 10, ran something like 24 or 48 hours straight of Dodger footage to commemorate the 100th anniversary. Of course, I taped none of it.
I still have the 1988 NBA Finals, Game 7 on VHS, complete with an index card with notations of various plays (the Byron Scott dunk to open the second half, the Michael Cooper three-pointers, etc) using the old counter system on my mom’s old VCR.

I got that game too! Plus the first night game at Wrigley and a bunch of old Indiana Hoosier basketball games when I lived in Bloomington.
The Calbert Chaney Era?
I remember the first night game at Wrigley Field was scheduled for 8/8/88, which happened to be my aunt’s 40th b-day. I believe we watched the game the next night at my cousin’s house, but I wasn’t home to tape it.
by Eric Stephen on Jan 26, 2011 2:04 PM PST up reply actions
Yeah, that game ended up getting rained out. My video from that game is all staticky b/c of the thunderstorms.
And yes, we lived in Bloomington for the ’87 National Championship with Steve alford and Keith Smart. When I was UCSD, I might have been the only kid trying to emulate Calbert Cheaney during the IM games. I even wore his jouney at RIMAC.

Schat’s is amazing. They have a little satellite shop in Mammoth though, so he could probably bring the cheesebread, hop on a plane and skip Bishop and the 5 hour drive.
The Mammoth shop and the Bishop shop are run by two different Schat brothers and are separate businesses, I think. Perhaps something about how their parents’ estate was settled.

11. Cutler
12. Freeman

Good list. Mine would start with Rodgers and Brees, though.
I also think Freeman (monster year coming up) should be above Cutler.
Freeman was tough for me
he had a monster year this year, and was actually better then cutler, but that was just one year.

I honestly think Manning is still the best
The pass blocking on the Colts has been atrocious the last 2 years.

When Manning has all of his weapons, he is pretty incredible. But I just really like Rodgers’ upside, scrambling ability, and receivers (minus Driver).
Well sure
they have the better offense right now, but purely QB vs QB Manning still is the best imho.

It is a bit of a mess right now
but its getting better. I think the succesfully kicked out the nutters who where on the school board and trying to dismantle the district.

born and raised in North Carolina – brainwashed Dodger fan
places I've lived
born in glendale (ca not az). Lived in Sunland, Glendale, Tujunga, Sun Valley, Burbank and La Crescenta while growing up (not nessecarily in that order). I currently live in Newhall (Santa Clarita). I go to about 30 dodger games per year. I would go to every game if I had the time/money.
Salt Lake City, Utah
Yes I’m Mormon. No, I only have one wife..:) I am not a Prop 8 Supporter…so lets not go there.
I like the name
I’m in SLC also – but grew up in Bakersfield, and my introduction to the Dodgers was listening to a transistor radio (early 70’s) as a kid, and Vin was painting a pitcher. I’ve been a Dodger fan ever since. I moved to SLC in 94, on the day of the Northridge earthquake, but still follow the Dodgers as much as possible.

I am old enough to have been a 16 year old with season tickets to the 68 Ogden Dodgers compliments of my best friends mom, Mrs. Fage. Of course at the time, I don’t even know if I knew the managers name. Tommie something .Ha
Just wanted to represent and say that it is a pleasure to be a part of this. Dodger Nation, or I should say World.

LOUISIANA...the other LA
Anybody repping the other LA yet?
Born and raised in Northeast Louisiana. Aside from a couple of Army National Guard relocations (Ft Leonard Wodd, MO for 5 months and Afghanistan for 1 miserable year), I live, lived and will prolly die in Louisiana.
Monroe, LA claim to Dodger fame: Ben Sheets went to the hometown University, ULM, and got married here with Mr. Tommy Lasorda in attendance.
Sweet Home Chicago!
In addition to catching the Dodgers at Wrigley each year and at the Cell the years they come (including 2011), I try to go to their series in Miller Park as well…
Dodger Fans all over the world
Well.. I’m from The Netherlands (yep, Europe, the small country next to Germany) and a big Dodger fan since 1981. Check out my Dodger blog on dutchdodger.blogspot.com or visit me on Facebook. Will be at the April 14th game against the Cards.
Dodger Fan in Utah
I tried to post earlier, but had to wait 24 hours after I registered. I love the site and have been reading for over a year. This thread finally got me sign up.
I was born in Glendale and lived in La Crescenta until I will 11, when my family moved to Utah.
My father took me to my first game when I was 4. Steve Garvey hit a home run that night. After that, he was my favorite player. I was crushed when he left the Dodgers.
Dodger fan in Boise, Idaho
Have been following TrueBlue LA since 2009. Been a Dodger fan my whole life. Mother grew up in Whittier, her stepdad was a big Dodger fan and would listen to Vin on the radio. She became a big fan of the 1970s teams. Then she moved to Idaho met my dad and I was born. My first Dodger memory is Kirk Gibson’s home run. My first favorite Dodger was Mike Piazza. I’ve been following the team every season since 1995. Went to an interleague game in Seattle in 1997. Piazza hit one, Karros hit two. The only problem was Junior, Edgar, Paul Sorrento did too. Then Russ Davis hit one in the bottom of the ninth (or in extras) to beat us. The Kingdome was a gray concrete dump. One day I’ll make to Dodger Stadium.
should
probably change my SB name, because I now live in Suburban Chicago. Sported my Dodger Colors in quite a few places including Bakersfield CA where I probably may have seen some of the early 90s Rookies of the Year play their ‘A’ ball and was just to young to remember it, Phoenix AZ, and Raleigh, NC where I graduated from the same high school as Josh Hamilton.
Dodger fan in Cheeseland
I live in Wisconsin, but have been a Dodgers fan since the 70s’. Finally went to my 1st game at Dodger Stadium in 2005. My wife said my face looked just like my kids did on their 1st trip to Disneyland. Go Blue!
