so who is the starting QB for Oakland? I need to get Directv by next season if Raiders surge continues. Fuck the Chargers and their exclusive rights crap. Does NFL want to make money or not?
its not only his call
not to mention its insane to expect a QB to be ready after 4 days to learn the offense

ha already a TD by Boller, to the other team… come on palmer a wussy get your ass out there, you’re are only hope
you could be right. But word is that Palmer is the one who said he isnt ready. Then again today media reported it was up to Palmer if he would start or not… so while it might not be true, seems to me Palmer is sitting himself.

It's too bad his running game just sucks
They are the best team in the NFL, but just imagine what they could do with a good running back.

Not really rooting for Rangers in the WS in general but would like to see em win today
because I’d love a 7 game series.
So, go Rangers (temporarily)!

Game Four
What is in store for tonight’s game? Crazy slugfest world or regular planet earth baseball?
Last nights crazy 16-7 game was the 302nd most likely final score in the simulation. The run total line in Vegas opened at 9.8 runs (9.5 O -120) and overnight jumped to 10.3 runs (10 O -120) which is almost unheard of. Could it be a psychological over-reaction to last nights slugfest? The run total line of 10.3 runs is the tied for 19th highest run total line of any game so far this season. Two Derek Holland pitched games are on the list ahead of this one. They were home games against the Florida Marlins and Houston Astros. The Marlins pitcher was Brad Hand (#2 Rank, Vegas 10.8 runs, Actual runs 14) and the Astros pitcher was J.A. Happ (#14 Rank, Vegas 10.4 runs, Actual runs 11). What does tonight have in store?
Anyone gonna post pics from last night? :-)

by Josie Becker on Oct 23, 2011 4:59 PM PDT up reply actions
Weird?
Really?
22 and 31..
I know ladies dont like discussing their ages…but 22 is USUALLY way hotter than 31 just due to genetics, aging process, etc
is she were 18 or 19, I’d be a little sketch but honestly, I think once you can legally drink, it’s chill
I pitched to Matt Kemp, and all I got was this stupid earned run.

Yeah, as a 25 year old, it’s hard for me to see anyone under 18 as a sexual object without feeling really weird
I pitched to Matt Kemp, and all I got was this stupid earned run.
@maddzgoesrawr @arenafitness
It might be a gender thing…i can understand men thinking women (no matter their ages if they look like a woman) to be attractive..
I do find it weird though when like middle age women (30s/40s) find the teenage Twilight boys to be sex symbols. That is odd.
but it’s pretty much the same thing.
I pitched to Matt Kemp, and all I got was this stupid earned run.
@maddzgoesrawr @arenafitness
yeah its a double standard….its more acceptable for a man to be a perv..
with a woman its like “what are they thinking!”
I find its the opposite
the man gets more flack then the woman
Watch me all in flames, on a butterfly I ride
If she was 18, then it would be a little weird
People become way too weird about age, even when both have been adults for a while.
This is an incredibly obvious thing to say, but if the people make each other happy who would care how old the other one is when you are talking about the difference of 10 years, not 30.
TBLA 2011 Postseason Prediction Champion
I don't know..
My fiance has friends (26) who date girls still in college. To me, its just strange they would be interested in girls at such a different stage of their lives
"I was a little scared he was into that Oakland thing. We swing here on 3-0." Grady Little on Andre
College girls can be
17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, or a little older than that. Nothing can be taken away from what statement really unless you are talking about freshamn, which is a little odd, but i still don’t have a problem with it. 26 isn’t that old. It’s much better than some of the people i’ve known who were 16-18 and dating a 27 and 28 year old. Now that’s pretty creepy.
TBLA 2011 Postseason Prediction Champion

Silly me
I was referring to, you know, becoming 18 and turning into an adult? I’m not talking about ACTING like an adult, i’m talking about being one. I know a lot of people older than me who still act like children. It doesn’t make them not adults.
TBLA 2011 Postseason Prediction Champion
Do you prefer a number
or is this a thing where each person should legally considered an adult by the time they mature individually? It’s gonna be awful tough for people who work at movie theaters to decide who’s old enough for rated R movies :P

I didnt say Zooey had no business existing. I just stated I thought there were way more women out there more worthy of the attention, and i sited the first brunette to come to mind.
If I’d said Eva Longoria, would that have been better?
I can state that Eva and Vanessa Hudgens do that exact same thing for me attraction wise, and they are aways a part in age.
I dont age discriminate.
No business existing? lolwut
I think he was just asking what everyone sees in her, which I agree with that statement. You may have been reading too much into his initial statement, haha.
TBLA 2011 Postseason Prediction Champion
And plus with celebrities and stars like that..i bet they are alot more mature for their ages than regular people
If you have to deal with the press, paparazzi, casting agents, etc…thats alot of stress to deal with and i bet you grow up fast.
I teen star growing up in that scene is probably way more mature just by what they’ve experienced than a normal girl from around the way
Because that’s contextualized too. 25 and 15 is a shitload different than 45 and 35.

by Hollywood Joe on Oct 23, 2011 5:29 PM PDT up reply actions
Basically
hard to get too excited about beating Miami (who may be frontrunner for Luck now and probably need him more than anything) but he did have two great drives where he did a lot to make up for how horrible he looked for 3 quarters. It’s going to be a roller coaster with him and still has a lot to improve on. But hard to argue with his toughness or leadership.
And heck, I watched a better QB in Philip Rivers, who has been around much longer than Tebow, make some truly inexplicable throws today and show zero leadership. So I won’t overlook that aspect of it, too.
And even though he was sacked 7 times today, probably only 2 of those were on him. Orton might have been sacked 10 times. Anyway… it’s a start.

Is this after the 62 point game tonight?
Before this the Colts had been competitive in 5 of 6 games.
its been 2 years since they had even a mediocre defense
Watch me all in flames, on a butterfly I ride
That did seem kind of reckless and unsporting of them
though at least they did bring in Daniel. At first from just looking at box score, I thought they’d left Brees in the whole game, which would’ve been really lame. But Daniel didn’t throw a pass which is why he wasn’t listed.

I mean that teasingly of course
but statistically, well let’s just say this, whatever their problems both the Dolphins AND the Broncos have a pretty decent defense. The Colts’ D looks horrible right now. To me, a Peyton-less Colts team is worse than the Dolphins, who are bad but can be competitive, and were kind of designed around making mediocre QB effective in the first place. Anyway, after seeing the Dolphins a few times this season, and some of the Colts games, I’d say the Colts are the worst team right now.

And (seeing below) yes, the Rams, too.
Look awful. The Rams and Colts are worse than the Dolphins period.

it didn’t work out, but they are on a roll now. I knew they wouldn’t continue getting stomped.

I wouldn't be surprised at all
if they take SD at home. Heck I think its likely.

Seems like mainstream stations pick up those songs like a whole year after they first come out and are played on the altenative stations.
Same thing would happen to the silversun pickups
silversun has lost all alure to me
really liked them for like a year or two, now, nothing.

First
Time a World Series is tied 2-2’since 2003. Last time there were at least 6 games played, 2009.
Last 15 times
It has happened (since 1971), team that won Game 5, won the series 8 times. Note that all 7 teams that had to win 2 games, did it at home.
I think they’d have to beat someone better than the Colts to do that.

1. Pick up LaRod Stephens-Howling
2. Brush off comments from league telling you how little you know
3.????

37 post-season games are guaranteed, the most post-season games in history (since 1995) is 38 in 2003.

That
Exact feat of pitching 8.1 scoreless innings has now been twice in World Series history.
It was done 3 times this year in the regular season, 3rd game starter Matt Harrison was one of the 3.
also
Napoli is the first catcher with two HRs in a WS since Piazza in 2000

Babe
Ruth held and holds several World Series pitching records, one of which is the highest game score of 97. That is 3 points higher than Larsen’s perfect game (94). Ruth pitched a 14 inning complete game against the Brooklyn Robins to get that score.
And the game lasted two hours and 32 minutes! http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS191610090.shtml
Stuff like WPA requires play by play data though. Almost all this comes from people digging up old scorebooks.

Do you by chance have the price list from last year? I thought I had it saved somewhere but I do not.

Looks like mine went from $45 to $34. That might help.

One note from Gurnick’s story on the price drop is that there will be two exhibition games at Dodger Stadium.
Which means they are likely playing exhibition games until April 4, the day before they open in San Diego. I would imagine something similar to last year, two games with the Angels, one at each place, then a game at Dodger Stadium. Or it could be three with the Angels.

they really make you feel very welcome. never really had customer service like that at a restaurant before. and the waitress practically gave us full body massages every time she came to the table, which was every 5 minutes.
I went to one last year for the first time. I really enjoyed it. Too bad (or alternately, good thing) there aren’t any nearby. I’m not driving out to Diamond Bar or wherever just for that.

Missed most of this weekend. Did we talk about the Angels interviewing Omar Minaya for GM. Because I think this needs to be discussed.
Minor League Central @mlcentral @andrewngrant
And the thing is there’s things Minaya is very good at. He’s great at finding talent from Latin countries, so you could hire him for that job, make your team better, or you can hire him for the GM job and have him cancel all that out by giving 100 million to Aramis Ramirez.
