Dodgers Announce 2011 Spring Training Television Schedule
The Dodgers have announced their 2011 spring training television schedule. The Dodgers will broadcast 15 games; 12 on Prime Ticket and three on KCAL. Game announcers will include Vin Scully, Rick Monday, Charley Steiner, Eric Collins, Steve Lyons, Josh Suchon and Joe Block. Scully will call all three games on KCAL.
Audio of all 15 Dodgers' television game broadcasts will be available on Dodgers.com.
The Dodgers play 17 games at Camelback Ranch this spring, and 14 of those games will be available on television in some way or another. Factor in available broadcasts from other teams, and as many as 22 of the Dodgers' 36 spring games will be available on television.

Spring training notes said yesterday that the KABC radio game tomorrow is the Angel game, while the spring broadcast press release said the Giant game is the one on radio.
I am trying to clear that up, but one game will be on KABC 790 tomorrow and one game will not.

thats a ton of games. is not being in florida part of the reason for fsw broadcasting more games? seems like the last couple of years we’d only get mostly weekend games on kcal..

Last year the Dodgers broadcast 14 games. The year before, they had a few, but several online only broadcasts, including Kershaw hitting a home run on his 21st birthday.

I wish the Giants did not train in Arizona. Come to think of out, as much as I like the Dodgers in Arizona it was nice that when we were in Vero Beach we never played the teams in our division. We already play them so much I’m sick of em.

1. Loved the 10:00 games, helped make work go faster before the internet.
2. As I said, I love them being in Arizona, just don’t like them playing the Padres, Giants, Diamondbacks, Rockies.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Not because of any competitive disadvantage
I assume since the time of the division realignment, the Dodgers were the only team not to train in Arizona and it didn’t seem to make that much difference when they played in the season.
Do you not like them playing those teams because they already play them 18/19 times in the regular season
Yes
I liked to use Spring Training to play teams we never see again.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
I did get tired of

The headline was far more alarming than the content
Dodgers To Skip Garland’s Turn
“It’s not a red flag,” said pitching coach Rick Honeycutt. “It’s precautionary in my mind. It’s not as much him, as me. This is the first time I’ve had him in Spring Training, and his offseason throwing program is different than the other guys. He’s just started throwing off the mound.”

Forgot to add
There are two other games on the Dodgers’ spring training schedule that are televised by other teams, but they are on their local stations:
Mar 14 at Texas: on something called TXA-21
Mar 26 at San Diego: on Channel 4 San Diego
OT but my visiting mom and stepdad just arrived to drop off
a bunch of boxes from their garage that are my stuff, from waaay back. SOme of it is sports memorabilia, baseball cards (I already had the best ones of those in an album up here), a bunch of old Sports Illustrated mags (as well as Mad Magazines, woo hoo!) Anyway, have to figure out what is worth keeping. Will keep stuff related to Dodgers or other of my teams. Toss or donate some of the rest, Any other way of telling what is worth something as far as mags and such go? Search ebay?

yeah I think I may just keep the ones that have some meaning to me
and try to donate the rest (if anyone wants em) via Craigslist or something. If any one in particular seems old and valuable I may research it further… but probably too time consuming to be worth it.

It’s funny how much we marked some of this stuff up, rightly thinking of it as a part of us and not thinking about a future web site called ebay, or whatever. Man these baseball cards are gonna take forever to look through and are probably mostly worthless.
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
For baseball cards, depending on when they’re from, I may be willing to take them off of your hands. I’ve been trying to collect four cards of every former Dodger major leaguer (not necessarily in a Dodger uni) for a while now. I’d be happy to pay a little something for a bunch of commons and then sort through ‘em to fill in some of my holes (TNWSS). As for the value of the cards, you can usually find a Beckett at any magazine rack, but anything old of real value, you’d probably already know about.
Magazines

from Gurnick:
at SF:
First baseman James Loney, catcher Rod Barajas and left fielder Marcus Thames are the regulars on the travel list to play the Giants.
at Angels:
Kuroda will be accompanied to Tempe by first-string outfielders Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp, platoon outfielder Jay Gibbons and platoon catcher Dioner Navarro.
Infielders Casey Blake, Rafael Furcal and Juan Uribe were accorded the veteran perk of skipping the first bus trip, and will make their game debuts on Sunday at home against the Angels.

A career OPS+ of 93 and ERA+ of 95. You’d think he should have been able to milk that versatility for longer. I always liked him from the day I saw that CWS game between Texas and Wichita State where he and Darren Dreifort both pitched and hit home runs in the same game. That was pretty epic.
