A Little More History

I loved the Bit of History post the other day, and to be honest it was that fact that made the Giants WS win last year slightly more bearable.

Here's some more history that's kind of fun.

Since moving to Los Angeles, the Dodgers have won 5 World Series. In that time period, only the Yankees have won more World Series than they have.

In that same time period, look at the most winning teams in other sports..

NBA - Only The Lakers, The Celtics, and The Bulls have won more championships than the Dodgers.

NFL - Only The Steelers have won more. The Cowboys & The 49ers have won as many.

NHL - Only The Canadiens have won more. The Oilers have won as many.

College FB - Only USC & Alabama have won more. Miami and Nebraska have won as many.

College BB - Only UCLA has won more.

So what does all of this mean? I would say that in the past 50 years, the Dodgers are won of the most successful sports franchises in America. Look at it this way: Lakers & Celtics, Steelers & Cowboys, Canadiens & Oilers, Yankees & Dodgers. Pretty sweet.

Also pretty impressive that The Dodgers, Lakers, USC Football, and UCLA Basketball have been so successful in that time period. No other city is represented more than once.

Sorry - thought this was fun, but realized there wasn't that much of a point to it.
