Jerry Sands

Ok if Sands keeps this up, 3 run HR and triple today (off of CF wall some 410 ft, someone tweeted that it would have been a HR in any other park due to the height of the CF fence) at what point do the Dodgers ditch the LF3, I like to call the JayMarcony ThameGwibbons, experiment and give Sands the job?

I realize I am getting way ahead of myself and he probably does need time at AAA but if he keeps this up and end up with 6 or 7 HR's at the end of camp, can play LF, RF and 1B (very useful for late game double switches) doesn't he warrant some consideration?

I like what I've seen out of Thames and Gwynn so far but Gibbons has been awful, and I don't want to hear any excuses about him having the flu deal with it.

Also Sands triple was off of Rockies reliever Matt Belisle, who was a stud out of the Rockies pen last year appearing in 76 games with 91 KO's in 92 IP and a 1.09 WHIP. So young Jerry wasn't exactly facing a scrub.

You guys around here are the experts, I realize there is a lot of camp left and we are dealing with a little over a weeks worth of games, but am I totally insane? Shouldn't the guy who's been by far your best hitter for Power, AVG and OBP at least be considered to make the squad? Ned said he signed the LF3 to 1 year deals not to block Sands wouldn't keeping Jay Gibbons be considered blocking Sands?
