Rafael Furcal won't need surgery on his broken left thumb.

The Dodgers have recalled someone from Albuquerque three straight days. On Sunday, John Ely got the call to make the start in San Diego, then Monday Jamie Hoffmann took Ely's place on the roster. Tonight, Ivan DeJesus gets recalled to take the place of Rafael Furcal, who was placed on the disabled list today with a broken left thumb.

Speaking of Furcal, he saw Dr. Steven Shin, a hand specialist, and team doctor Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles today, and it was determined that Furcal will not need surgery, per Jeff Fletcher of Bay Bridge Baseball. Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times added this:

Furcal will be in a splint for 3 weeks. Could be back in 4-6 weeks
