No National Leaguer has a higher batting average on the road this season than Jamey Carroll's .374.

It's no secret that the Dodgers have struggled on offense this season, but while wearing the road grays they have more resembled a major league offense. At Dodger Stadium, they are averaging 3.03 runs per game, but on the road they have scored 4.54 runs per contest.

Part of the reason has been the triumvirate of usual suspects. Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, and Jamey Carroll are in the top 12 in the National League in road OPS, and are in the top five in batting average:

  • Kemp: .364/.461/.713, 11 home runs, 30 RBI, 9 steals
  • Ethier: .344/.427/.475, three home runs, 22 RBI
  • Carroll: .374/.434/.439, six doubles, 16 runs scored

The Dodgers end their 10-game road trip today with a chance to even their road trip record at 5-5. Rubby De La Rosa gets his second major league start, against fellow Dominican Ubaldo Jimenez, who shutout the Dodgers 11 days ago.
