Josh Lindblom- Traded or Called Up?

I just heard from a friend at the Lookouts game that Josh Lindblom came out of the bullpen, went to the dugout and said goodbye to the team.  I'm not sure if he's been traded or called up, but wanted to give you guys the skinny on a possible roster move.  I'm interested to see what develops.

Also the Lookouts have scored 8 runs on 4 HRs: 2 by Travis Denker, 1 by Jaime Pedroza and 1 by Scott Van Slyke. Allen Webster is pitching well after his last crummy outing. [UPDATE: Webster completed a shutout, allowing one walk while striking out 7. -Ed.]

Think he’ll get called up if Kuroda’s traded?

Eovaldi

Scratched from AA start tomorrow??. Lindblom called up to LA. Ethan Martin to start in Chatanooga

by bd54 on Jul 28, 2011 8:28 PM PDT up reply actions

The only guess is why

They scratched EO’s start. But it seems he is under serious consideration for call up

Part of a Kuroda/Montero deal!

Yeah, gotta be one of those. They need more BP depth either way with KJ also needing a rest.

If he was traded it probably would’ve been a more tearful farewell. ;)

Any other, actual trade news to report btw?

It's amazing how many false alarms I've seen on Twitter this week

so many minor leaguers who were just held out of a game due to injury or rest or other minor things, that lead people to assume trade, reporters to report on it, then have to correct it later. Kind of comical, really. Made me almost wonder if teams were purposely screwing with people.

by underdog on Jul 28, 2011 7:36 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah, it's kind of getting annoying these false alarms

but remember the days of yore before Twitter? It’s amazing that we all can get the lowdown often from the horse’s mouth the moment something happens

Kuroda and Lindblom for Russel Martin.

by fbihop on Jul 28, 2011 7:40 PM PDT reply actions

That’s a joke, not actual news, btw. Feel like that disclaimer is necessary these days.

Good job Webby!

awesome game from him.

Lindblom/Kuroda/Hawksworth for Montero

lololol…please?

Yes please :)

by Ivdown on Jul 28, 2011 7:42 PM PDT up reply actions

Why does everyone want Montero so bad?

I prefer catching prospects that can play catcher, personally.

by Taylor Maricle on Jul 28, 2011 7:43 PM PDT up reply actions

I’ve read that Montero’s defense and arm aren’t great… I wonder as well

by Jack Huber on Jul 28, 2011 7:43 PM PDT up reply actions

I was JUST about to say the same thing. If he could catch, he’d be playing for the Yankees already. He can’t catch.

by fbihop on Jul 28, 2011 7:44 PM PDT up reply actions

I don’t want Sands at 1b

by Jack Huber on Jul 28, 2011 7:44 PM PDT up reply actions

However, one might think that his reputation is inflated by his “ability” to play catcher, and that we could more easily get someone seen as just a 1B because of lower perceived value.

by Taylor Maricle on Jul 28, 2011 7:52 PM PDT up reply actions

sure

or everyone already knows already he’s not going to play catcher in the bigs.

by npurcell on Jul 28, 2011 7:53 PM PDT up reply actions

Then how will we sign Prince Fielder in the offseason!?

by fbihop on Jul 28, 2011 7:48 PM PDT up reply actions

use the money to lock up a better player

named Matt Kemp. It could work out perfectly, I still wouldn’t extend Ethier, but if we’re out of it next year we get prospects for him and if we contend we get picks. But Montero is not gonna happen. Probably not.

Michael Watt

2007 2nd Round pick for the Dodgers traded to San Diego for Maddux in 2008 (pitcher Eduardo Perez also came with Watt). Watt, still only 22, is pitching tonight against Rancho Cucamonga, he has made 20 starts, averaging less than 5 IP per start, this year he is striking out about 9 per 9 IP but he is giving up over 1.5 baserunners per inning.

If Chris Withrow

doesn’t make it to majors, the 2007 draft might be the worst draft in the Logan White era. As it is, Withrow, Pedroza, Gallagher and Matt Wallach are the only chance that draft has to do anything.

at this comment by “Stataholic”:

I fail to see what is so special about Kershaw, it is obvious to even the most novice statistician that he is much more lucky than good. When his BABIP, xFIP, HR/FB and LOB% regress back into acceptable ranges this guy is league average, basically Jorge De la Rosa in a Dodger uniform.
