So I'm guessing

the number one thing you got from the SBNation conference was that a daily link to other web sites is something you should be doing?

it wasn’t number one, but it was highly encouraged. I think it’s brilliant for TBLA since it’s odd chatting it up about every which thing in the morning, all inside Brandon’s highly researched minor league post.

I used to try doing it once a week but that meant reading other blogs and who has time for that.

if you don’t read other people’s work, how do you know if yours is any good?

Depends what I’m going for. If I’m trying to be funny and I make myself laugh when I read it, then hit I post. If I’m writing a sad story and I cry then I hit post. If I’m trying to get people angry and I get angry then I hit post. If I’m trying to enlighten and I think I’ve made my point without totally corkscrewing the readers ability to comprehend my points then I hit post.

Rarely do I think – Hey is this any good, because if I did that, I’d probably never hit post.

Early on at TBLA I came to the conclusion that if I read other people’s work I’d never write anything because somewhere someone would have already covered what I wanted to write. Course that was back when I was writing.

Since 2001, 3rd baseman 25 and under, sorted by OPS+

Three of the top four seasons were by stud monkeys who did not stay at 3rd very long.

The list is populated with players you’d expect to populate the list except for the player with the 20th best OPS+, 25 and under since 2001, playing 3rd base.

My favorite car is the 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo S (sentimental reasons / both my Dad & Step Dad each owned one growing up.)

247 HP engine on just 4 cylinders
Top speed on stock engine 172mph
Near 50:50 weight distribution
Was known as one of the greatest handling sports cars of it’s time
