Dodgers Saturday Links
Here are some Dodgers links for a Saturday...
- Friday night's game recap by Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times includes a note that Hiroki Kuroda jokingly asked Rod Barajas to hit a home run for him last night, which he did. "All you have to do is ask," Barajas told Kuroda.
- Ned Colletti on Friday deflected talk of possibly replacing Jim Hendry as Cubs general manager, wrote Tony Jackson of ESPN Los Angeles.
- Ken Gurnick of MLB.com has a brief recap of the state of several injured Dodgers, including Casey Blake, Juan Uribe, Dee Gordon, Jonathan Broxton, and Kenley Jansen.
- The Dodgers will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Beatles concert at Dodger Stadium on the upcoming homestand. Roberto Baly of Vin Scully is My Homeboy has the details.
- John Sickels at Minor League Ball reviewed his preseason top 20 Dodgers prospects, with new commentary on each prospect.
- The Rockies are pondering calling up former Dodgers unsigned draftee Alex White, who was part of the return from Cleveland for Ubaldo Jimenez. Manager Jim Tracy is pondering a six-man rotation, or White could simply replace the struggling Jason Hammel, wrote Jim Armstrong of the Denver Post.

Didn't think we could trot a lineup out that was worse than yesterday's, but...
And we know how that worked out! ;-) So here goes nothing!
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
They are the people who wear the laundry you root for.

I’d like to give a big shoutout to the clubhouse guys for keeping my beloved laundry so clean

Fair question
He’s 1 for 8 vs Rogers, maybe that’s part of it. But Rogers is a righty.
And Rivera is hot. So…

I guess they think Gwynn shouldn’t be asked to try RF, nor Kemp either. That must be it – Kemp is now a vet star, and can’t be asked to play out of his regular position.
Because Loney is a piece of shit

Overheard in the clubhouse next week
“Jim, Eric Stephen of True Blue Los Angeles. I read here that Eric Stephen of True Blue Los Angeles called you, and I’m quoting now, a piece of shit. Any comment?”

Well, that probably precludes any Dodger candinates.
A reminder of the criteria for the next GM as laid out by owner Tom Ricketts, who will conduct the search: a commitment to player development, a stronger analytical background, and someone who’s been in a winning culture and has a track record of success.

That whole link is injury related. In addition to the above, you also get info on Barajas’s injury and Ethier’s injury, and Kershaw’s non-injury (ie, why he didn’t pitch the 9th the other day).

Yeah, MLB stacks its pregame stories, similar in a way to the StoryStream on SB Nation or the regional sites, such that there are multiple stories on one page. Clicking on a link for one of those stories on MLB.com would have made it the lead story on the page filled with all of them.

The Dodgers pounded Jason Hammel out of the rotation. Alex White will indeed start Tuesday for Colorado.
