Dodgers Thursday Links: Dana Eveland, Jamey Carroll, Dee Gordon, Eugenio Velez, Clayton Kershaw
As the Dodgers are in Pittsburgh for one day, and one day only, here are some links for Thursday...
- Dana Eveland gets the start today in Pittsburgh for the Dodgers, and as noted by Tony Jackson at ESPN LA, Eveland's last big league appearance came on June 23, 2010, with the Pirates.
- "Jamey Carroll was pursued by the Braves off waivers, but Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said the offer was far too low to consider trading the veteran middle infielder," reported AJ Cassavell of MLB.com.
- "I feel like I'm ready, I'm swinging the bat well, I'm throwing the ball well, I stole a few bases, fell on my shoulder, everything's good," Dee Gordon told Vincent Bonsignore of the LA Daily News. "I'm happy."
- Eric Seidman at FanGraphs looks at the awesomeness of Clayton Kershaw
- At Baseball Nation, Grant Brisbee examines the genius of Eugenio Velez.
- The McCourts sold one of their houses in Holmby Hills. Bill Shaikin of the LA Times has the details.

so Mitchell is recalled
any chance Sands comes up today as well? Give Andre another day off?

this one game in pitt is shitty
would imagine callups might be in spurts cuz of the weird travel situation?

Minor league seasons still going. More players likely coming starting Tuesday in DC.
Maybe a catcher gets called up this weekend in Atlanta.

Yep
Those are the only three moves, now announced by the Dodgers.

Ely is a lock, if only to have a long man.

is he like the stapler guy in Office Space
They just stop sending paychecks and hope he gets the hint but he keeps showing up…
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.

Keisler pitched the only very good pitching performance for the Isotopes that I saw this year. Did it in a game where Broxton was rehabbing.
They should bring up Alberto Bastardo just cause he has a cool name.

Not as cool

I like the part in the Velez link
about how he played the entire game with a misspelled jersey, and nobody noticed because it’s Velez.

I want a job with Jamie Enterprises (from divorce link above)
I’m highly qualified…with a long track record of generating no income through my efforts.

Good for Mitchell
One point for TJ, take one away for Dilbeck
If knowledge can create problems, it is not through ignorance that we can solve them.
Just from reading Dilbeck’s post, it seems like he simply forgot about Mitchell.
