Dodgers 9/12/11 Minor League Report - Quakes on the Brink of Elimination
Minor League Player of the Day – Matt Magill - 6.2 IP, 3 Hits, 2 Runs, 4 K's. Magill's final stat line might not look overly impressive, but through 6 innings he was brilliant as he had only allowed 1 hit. Good to see Matt throwing well this late in the year since his final 6 appearances in the regular season were mediocre at best.
AAA – Season over
AA – Season over
HiA – The Quakes season is on the ropes after a 3 - 2 loss to the Storm (Padres) on Monday. The game was actually scoreless through 6, but Lake Elsinore struck first and never looked back. Starter Matt Magill was outstanding through 6 innings as he had allowed just 1 hit, and even struck out the first 2 batters of the 7th before giving up back to back singles which got him pulled. Scott McGough came in and promptly served up a 2-run double, then was saved as Blake Smith threw out a runner at the plate when the next batter singled. Rancho quickly tied the game on a two-run homer by Anthony Jackson, but the Storm answered back with another RBI double to seal their victory. Besides the Jackson homer, there were no other offensive highlights for the Quakes except for a pinch RBI double by Austin Gallagher. On the pitching side, besides the players mentioned above it should be noted that Aaron Miller picked up the loss when he walked a batter who eventually scored the winning run, while Juan Rodriguez got out both batters he faced.
LoA – Season over
Rookie Ogden – Pioneer League Finals start today
Rookie Arizona – Season over
DSL – Season over
Coming up - The Quakes are one loss away from elimination, and will send 2011 1st round pick Chris Reed to the mound to try and save the season and tie the best of 5 series at 2. The Raptors begin the the Pioneer League Finals on Tuesday against the Great Falls Voyagers. It is a quick best of 3 series and the starter has not yet been announced, through my guess would be 2011 4th round pick Ryan O'Sullivan.

good for a CF?
what would you pay for that?

Sounds like Mike Cameron.

it is Mike Cameron. I didn’t realize his offense, at age 39, was still kind of good.

amazing how much of the all time strikeout leaderboard played within the last 10 years or so.

Might give it a shot.

i’ve never actually had it. I don’t like egg yolk, i can’t imagine drinking an egg-based drink.
I before E except in Teixeira.
I remember drinking it once as a child and not liking it. Not sure I’ve had it in 15+ years.

Jack in the box gets those earlier than Egg Nog in the stores
The day Jack has those shakes I will be so happy, lol.

Egg Nog
is awesome, although I find it generally too rich in my old age. Cutting it with brandy, say, helps a lot though.

couldn’t they theoretically activate him from the 60day MLB DL, assign him to a MiLB team and then DL him there to keep his service time down? I suppose a greivance would be filed and he’d be awarded that service time and pay in the end.
I before E except in Teixeira.
by a rough estimate he'll get 125 days of service time this year
which means that he could be a super 2. last year the cufoff was 2 years and 122 days
by Brandon Lennox on Sep 13, 2011 8:58 AM PDT up reply actions
however this year they estimate the cutoff will be 2 years and 146 days
so it varies from year to year

Those too. I’ve got my computer at home cranking away at pitch data right now so hopefully that’ll be done in a couple days.

dang. what would you need for it to take a more reasonable amount of time. like “updated daily” ype of time? a server?
I before E except in Teixeira.
Better hosting. I can’t run my code that updates the database from their servers and they don’t let me connect to the database from my computer. This means instead of just updating things that changed I have to reload the entire database every time I update.

Jon has talked me into seeing this movie. I will now have to explain to my wife why we are seeing this after I spent a 1/2 hour explaining why I did not want to see Jonah Hill play one of my hero’s as a quivering character straight out of Freaks and Geeks.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
just print out the review
and let Jon convice her! :)

show her a picture of Brad Pitt and a newspaper, and tell her to circle which time she wants to see the movie.

For some reason my girlfriend really wants to see the movie but has no desire to read the book.

lost some serious weight. I wonder if it was for the role, or just coincidence?

Don Mattingly, a players manager.
How come when the players aren’t being overt dicks (except our right fielder) we credit the manager but when they are we blame the player.

when the team sucks, everyone wants to fire the manager. or the hitting coach.
