I'm still thinking about Kershaw holding onto the lead

For Cy Young. I know everyone said it was a lock, but it would be good to know for sure.

I identify with Velez, and for him, I want him to get a hit.

I root for weird things to happen, and the call of history is too much, and I want him not to get a hit.

If by “both leagues”‘you mean just AL and NL, there’s only one team that’s ever played in both.

But if you mean “two major leagues” then the answer is “two”. The other team is the Dodgers. The Dodgers won the American Association pennant in 1889, then joined the NL in 1890, won the NL pennant in 1899 and 1900, then another 16! Times I think. Plus the NL West division title several more times.

A sudden blow: the great wings beating still
Above the staggering girl, her thighs caressed
By the dark webs, her nape caught in his bill,
He holds her helpless breast upon his breast.

How can those terrified vague fingers push
The feathered glory from her loosening thighs?
And how can body, laid in that white rush,
But feel the strange heart beating where it lies?

A shudder in the loins engenders there
The broken wall, the burning roof and tower
And Agamemnon dead.
                    Being so caught up,
So mastered by the brute blood of the air,
Did she put on his knowledge with his power
Before the indifferent beak could let her drop?

Phil called it
Man, if Clayton was pitching I’d bet on a no no

Lilly might even be able to go seven.

One step closer to 40-40, one step foward, one step back for Triple Crown?

The fact that this sentence is possible for one player is by itself a closed case for MVP.

Dodgers Weekly Poll

Who call-up had the biggest impact? Guerra won, which is fine. But Sellers got 18%…talk about overrated.

In case anyone was wondering or cares (or, I guess, even if no one notices or cares), I’m still up at the state legislature in New Mexico watching the Senate debate capital outlay (think, earmarks).

Coming up on midnight here in the Land of Enchantment.

One of the Senators is speaking now and he wants to create a Navajo Codetalker Museum.

Which is made interesting by the fact that he was a Navajo Codetalker. Sen. John Pinto, he has an amazing story. Has been a State Senator since 1977.
