I'm trying to be objective here

but I am having trouble understanding how Braun could possibly beat Kemp for MVP. Unless success of the their respective teams is all that matters, of course.

by TC Blue on Sep 28, 2011 9:57 PM PDT reply actions

it's because Kemp lacks the ability to make our other guys better.

How he could develop that ability and why does it matter???, that i don’t know.

by XXDC2XX on Sep 28, 2011 10:04 PM PDT up reply actions

No kidding

The fact that Kemp’s numbers are better (except for average) on a line up much less intimidating than the Brewers (who get to play half their games in Milwaukee, obviously) should speak volumes.

But it probably won’t..

by TC Blue on Sep 28, 2011 10:14 PM PDT up reply actions

Winning team will tilt some voters Braun’s way. Having Prince on the same team may tilt some voters Kemp’s way.

I wouldn’t go out on a limb for either guy; I think you could make a realistic argument for both of them. I think it will be a very close vote. But that’s just my opinion.

Crawford actually made a decent play on the ball, but just couldn’t hold it in his glove. His throw to the plate to try and nab Nolan Reimold was a fraction of a second too late. Not a good night, and a fitting end to a disastrous first season in Boston that saw Crawford hit .255/.289/.405 while playing bad defense in left field (he entered tonight with a -0.3 dWAR) and stealing a career-low (for a full season) 18 bases. Now 30 years old, Boston can only hope it is not a harbinger of things to come for Crawford heading into the final six years of the monster contract he signed last offseason.
