The Hated Ones

It's been a long time, but this week's series is finally The Dodgers and The Giants, the way it's supposed to be, battling it out for division supremacy. As much as I hate them with all my fiber and being, its great for the rivalry when both teams are good. I was pretty young, but one of my earliest baseball memories is the Giants eliminated us on the last day of the 1991 season. I was there on that glorious fall day- October 3, 1993 when Kevin Gross pitched a gem, Piazza hit 2 HR's, we lit up Salomon Torres, and Matt Williams cried all the way home. I cried after the Barroid bat flip game, and Brian F'ing Johnson. The greatest sports day of my life was when Steve Finley crushed Wayne Franklin's pitch into the Right Field Pavilion to clinch the division, and Barroid went ringless for another year.

It's been way too long since we've had "a collision" like this as Vinny would say, and I haven't been this excited for a regular season series in a very long time. Interleague play is over, time to start a new chapter in this season. Eovaldi needs to set the tone tonight, and he's due to finally get some run support. Lets Go Dodgers! BEAT THE HATED ONES!
