American League Foes Lie Ahead For Dodgers

Stay connected for news and updates

It's probably best if the Dodgers don't let their lack of interleague success get to their head.

The Dodgers are in Seattle Friday night to face the Mariners, the start of a three-game series and the first of 15 straight interleague games for the Dodgers. Over the next 17 days the Dodgers will face nothing but American League foes:

  • Friday-Sunday: at Seattle
  • Monday-Wednesday: vs. Angels
  • June 15-17: vs. White Sox
  • June 19-21: at Oakland
  • June 22-24: at Anaheim

The Dodgers haven't had a winning record in interleague play since 2004.

Kershaw Injury Update

Clayton Kershaw, who is scheduled to start Saturday's game against Seattle, has skipped his running in-between starts to rest his sore left foot, per Ken Gurnick of MLB.com. Kershaw has been dealing with plantar fasciitis for a little over a week, an injury Kershaw has said that only hurts him when he runs and not when he pitches. The injury was evident on Monday night as Kershaw ran to first on a sacrifice bunt in the seventh inning in Philadelphia.

ESPN Game Added

The Dodgers announced on Friday that their July 1 game against the New York Mets at Dodger Stadium will now be played at 5 p.m. PDT and be broadcast on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. The game had previously been listed with a time to be determined.

Other Sunday games for the Dodgers currently listed as TBD are August 5 against the Cubs, September 2 against the Diamondbacks, and September 16 against the Cardinals, all home games. The Dodgers have one other TBD game, on Saturday, September 29 against the Rockies at Dodger Stadium.

Starting Lineups

The Dodgers, counting the switch-hitter Elian Herrera, have six left-handed batters in their lineup tonight against the right-handed Kevin Millwood. The Mariners have eight lefties ready to hit against the righty Nathan Eovaldi.
