The 10th annual Dodgers community caravan begins on Monday, with several current and former Dodgers taking part in various events throughout the Los Angeles area. "Pitching in the community" is the theme of this year's event, held in partnership with various community based organizations.
Here is the schedule of events:
Monday, Jan. 21: Tommy Lasorda will be at Belmont High School on day one of the caravan, along with Billy Ashley, Bobby Castillo, Al "The Bull" Ferrara, Lee Lacy, Tim Leary, Joe Moeller, Wes Parker, Dennis Powell and Derrel Thomas,
Tuesday, Jan. 22: Billy Ashley, Al "The Bull" Ferrara, Eric Karros, Lee Lacy, Tim Leary, Joe Moeller, Dennis Powell, Bill Russell, Derrel Thomas and Fernando Valenzuela will all be at the YMCA in Huntington Park
Wednesday, Jan. 23: The scene shifts to the Youth Speak Collective, where Ron Cey, Al "The Bull" Ferrara, Jim Gott, Lee Lacy, Tim Leary, Wes Parker, Dennis Powell, Bill Russell, Steve Yeager, and Pepe Yniguez will help out at the Project Youth Green community garden.
Thursday, Jan. 24: Al "The Bull" Ferrara, "Sweet" Lou Johnson, Lee Lacy, Kenny Landreaux, Joe Moeller, Dennis Powell, Derrel Thomas and Steve Yeager will all take part in a structured recess at La Tijera Elementary School in Inglewood.
Friday, Jan. 25: The final day of the caravan ends with a bang, with a busy day filled with four locations. They will hit Santee Educational Complex, Inner-City Arts, Tobin World, and a Dodgers Dreamfield at LA Boys and Girls Club on Pasadena Avenue.
On the final day, the roster is well represented, as scheduled to appear are Luis Cruz and wife Maria, AJ Ellis and wife Cindy, Mark Ellis, Andre Ethier and wife Maggie, Tim Federowicz, Adrian Gonzalez, Javy Guerra, Matt Guerrier, Kenley Jansen, Clayton Kershaw and wife Ellen, Brandon League and wife Sasha, Don Mattingly and wife Lori, Nick Punto, Hyun-jin Ryu, Skip Schumaker and Shawn Tolleson and wife Lynley.
