Justin Sellers arrested in West Sacramento

Troy Taormina-US PRESSWIRE

The Dodgers' infielder was arrested near his home for reportedly doing wheelies and driving recklessly on a motorcycle in a residential neighborhood.

After the events of Saturday, Justin Sellers may have new meaning for his Twitter handle, @SellBlock_12. The Dodgers infielder was arrested on Saturday after driving recklessly on his motorcycle in West Sacramento. Per KCRA TV:

Police said Justin Sellers was doing "wheelies" on his motorcycle in a neighborhood near Riva Drive. When officers tried to pull him over, police said Sellers took off.

After a short chase, Sellers turned himself in, authorities said.

West Sacramento police said they have had repeated reports of a motorcyclist driving recklessly in the same neighborhood for the past month.

The most disturbing part of this is the repeated reports, in a residential neighborhood. CBS Sacramento has more:

Sellers was booked in Yolo County jail on charges of reckless driving and evading police, per KXTV in Sacramento.

The Dodgers declined comment on Saturday night.

Sellers made his first opening day roster in 2012 for the Dodgers, and hit .205/.286/.386 in 19 games. He injured his back on a dive into the stands against the Diamondbacks in May, and last played on May 22. He had lower back surgery on Aug. 23, and was expected to be ready in time for spring training. Position players are scheduled to report to Camelback Ranch on Feb. 15.

Sellers is currently on the 40-man roster, but well down the depth chart among infielders. As someone on the fringes of the roster, an incident like this, especially if it's part of a pattern of behavior, can't help.
