Dodgers 2013 season in thirds: The final 54 games

This quartet, plus Juan Uribe, were the only five Dodgers to start 100 games in 2013. - Doug Pensinger

A breakdown of the 2013 campaign in three parts, the last two of which were very successful for the Dodgers.

Every year we look back at the season in three parts — you can view 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012, too — for no other reason but to see how things progressed as the season went on. Who was consistent, who was healthy, who was hot and cold?

The 2013 season was certainly no ordinary campaign for the Dodgers. In the first third of the season they were on pace for 93 losses, then they were on fire for 10 weeks. Even with a below-.500 September their final 54 games were played at a 99-win pace.

Here is a look at the final third of the season for the Dodgers.

Now to the outfield, where it's painful to see the games played column for Matt Kemp. Had the Dodgers received his final third performance for the entire season, we would have taken that from a rookie, right?
