Top prospect Corey Seager and pitcher Yimi Garcia will represent the Dodgers in Saturday's Fall Stars Game, featuring some of the best prospects in baseball on Saturday in Surprise Stadium, the annual showcase event for the Arizona Fall League.
The 5 p.m. PT game Saturday will be televised by MLB Network and will be streamed live on MLB.com.
Seager and Garcia are part of the 25-man West roster. Seager was ranked by MLB.com as the No. 47 prospect in baseball by MLB.com, though he is struggling so far in the AFL. The 19-year-old shortstop was 0-for-4 with three strikeouts on Monday in Glendale's 8-7 loss to Surprise, and is just 6-for-41 (.146) so far in Arizona Fall League action.
Garcia on Monday allowed his first runs of the AFL, allowing two runs in one inning for the Desert Dogs. In six games Garcia has six strikeouts and three walks in 7⅔ innings, with a 2.35 ERA. Garcia, who turned 23 in August, struck out 85 and walked just 14 in 60⅓ innings with Double-A Chattanooga in 2013, and figures to be added to the Dodgers' 40-man roster in November.
The only other Dodgers prospect to play on Monday for the Desert Dogs was Brian Cavazos-Galvez, who started in left field and was 1-for-4 with a run scored. In 15 games so for in the AFL, BCG is hitting .250/.295/.375 with two doubles and a home run.
