Details of Dan Haren's contract incentives

Haren can earn up to $26 million over two years, including $3 million per season in performance bonuses. "I expect to reach all my incentives," Haren said Tuesday.

The Dodgers on Monday finalized their contract with Dan Haren, signing the right-hander to a one-year deal worth at least $10 million. But Haren could earn up to $3 million in both 2014 and, if his option is exercised, in 2015 in performance bonuses.

Those contract incentives start at 24 games started and 150 innings pitched, and thanks to the Associated Press we have the details of those annual incentives.

Haren gets $250,000 for each of 24, 27 and 30 games started, and $500,000 for 32 games started.

If Haren pitches 150 innings, he gets $250,000, and gets the same for each of 160 and 170 innings pitched. For 180 innings he gets a $500,000 bonus, and another $500,000 at 190 innings.

Haren has started at least 30 games in each of the last nine seasons, averaging 33 starts per year during that span. He has also pitched at least 169⅔ innings in each of those nine seasons. He has averaged 214 innings pitched from 2005-2013, with the last two years the only seasons during that time with fewer than 216 innings.

Haren's base salary is $10 million in 2014, and the option for 2015 is a club option at $10 million. If Haren reaches 180 innings in 2014, his 2015 option becomes a player option.
