Spring training 2013: Dodgers vs. Cubs starting lineups

Rob Tringali

The Dodgers host the Cubs in their first televised game of the spring on Monday.

The Dodgers play their first televised game of the spring on Monday, as the Cubs come to Camelback Ranch. The Prime Ticket viewers will be treated to a rather classic spring training lineup, including Juan Uribe batting cleanup.

Manager Don Mattingly likes to give his regular position players every third game off during the early part of spring, giving them a day to work on things like mechanics and timing in the batting cage after playing two games. Mattingly also said he wanted to give catcher A.J. Ellis some extra rest at first because spring training games started so early this year, and you have a lineup with no projected starters (though Jerry Hairston Jr. and Skip Schumaker will likely play quite a bit this season) and three non-roster invitees.

Here are the lineups, with the Cubs' starting nine courtesy of Carrie Muskat of MLB.com:

Cubs

Valbuena 2B
Barney DH
Schierholtz RF
Hairston CF
Nelson 1B

Lake 3B

Carlos Villanueva starts on the mound for Chicago.

Dodgers

Schumaker 2B
Hairston RF
Uribe 1B
