Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez apparently hurt his knee sliding into second base on Thursday night in the finale of the Caribbean Series, but the injury wasn't serious enough to remove him from the game, which lasted 18 innings.

Ramirez and the Dominican Republic lost 4-3 to Mexico on a home run by Doug Clark in the 18th inning. At seven hours, 28 minutes, it was the longest game by both time and innings in Caribbean Series history.

Ramirez had an awkward slide into second base in the 14th inning when trying to break up a double play.

But Ramirez stayed in the game and made two more plate appearances, including grounding into a force play in the 16th inning. Ramirez beat the throw to first base, then tagged up and advanced to second base on a fly ball to left field.

The injury to Ramirez wasn't serious enough to make the game stories from either Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com nor Enrique Rojas of ESPN, so this appears to be nothing more than a temporary scare for the Dodgers.

Ramirez had one hit in eight at-bats on Thursday night, and in the seven-game Caribbean Series hit just .156 (5-for-32) with a double and six walks.

Pitchers and catchers report to Dodgers camp at Camelback Ranch on Tuesday, with position players set to report on Friday, Feb. 15. The first full squad workout for the Dodgers will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16.
