The Dodgers lost to the Angels in split squad action 16-8 on Friday afternoon in Tempe.
Hyun-jin Ryu struck out three in two innings in his first start for the Dodgers, but was also greeted rudely by Josh Hamilton, who hit a two-run home run to center field in the first inning in a 16-8 win by the Angels on Friday in Tempe.
Ryu, who pitched one inning of relief in his spring debut on Feb. 24, was stretched to two innings against the Halos, and allowed four hits. Ryu also walked one batter, a free pass to Mike Trout to lead off the first inning. One out later, Hamilton deposited a 3-2 pitch over the wall in right center field for his first home run as a Halo.
I'm not sure which Ryu revelation was more noteworthy, that he didn't know who Trout was before Friday, per J.P. Hoornstra of the Daily News, or this:

Luis Cruz, who homered on Thursday after missing two games with food poisoning, delivered two doubles and a single in his three at-bats on Friday, and drove in two runs. Dee Gordon singled, walked twice, and scored two runs from the leadoff spot.
Yasiel Puig doubled home a run and drove in another with a sacrifice fly, and he also threw out Luis Rodriguez at third base from right field with a tremendous one-hop throw. Puig made an impression on Angels starter Jered Weaver, who made his spring debut.
The Angels exploded for seven runs in the third inning against Matt Palmer, but since they were all scored with two outs, after an error ...

Chris Reed allowed one run on one hit and a walk in his one inning of work. Like the other Dodgers first round pick up from minor league camp Friday wearing an unnamed number 90 jersey, Zach Lee, Reed struck out two.
Brian Barden went 1-for-2 and saw his spring training average drop to .636.
