First, the Dodgers are holding their annual "Dodgers Idol" karaoke competition, in which all first year players in camp must sing and be judged in front of all the players and coaches. The person setting up the sound system in the clubhouse performed a sound check that consisted of singing the entire 'Me & Bobby McGee' by Janis Joplin
The other thought is Monday's looming off day, though personally that might be even more exciting to the writers than the team. Aaron Harang will throw on his scheduled turn on Monday, in a simulated game against minor leaguers, but otherwise tomorrow is a quiet day in major league camp for the Dodgers.
But before we get to Monday, there is a game to play Sunday, and that game includes Matt Kemp returning to the lineup as the designated hitter in his second game of the spring. Here are the starting lineups against the Indians:
Right-handed pitcher Corey Kluber starts for Cleveland.
Adrian Gonzalez, Luis Cruz, and Javy Guerra (scheduled to pitch an inning) report to Camleback Ranch on Monday, but for Team Mexico, training in Glendale for the World Baseball Classic. Nick Punto reports to Team Italy at Papago Park in Phoenix on Monday. All four players are playing Sunday.
Josh Beckett gets the start for the Dodgers. Yasiel Puig, the only Dodger to play a game every day of spring so far, is listed on the "No go" section of Sunday's schedule, which means he won't be available for the game but will likely be doing side work in the batting cages after the morning workouts.
Scheduled reserves for the Dodgers on Sunday include Alex Castellanos (RF), Omar Luna (2B), Dallas McPherson (1B), Nick Evans (LF), Elian Herrera (3B), Wilkin Castillo (C), Justin Sellers (SS), and Jeremy Moore (CF).
