It turned out that the scare Shawn Tolleson got on Tuesday with his left knee was nothing more than just that, a scare. Tolleson, who came out of Tuesday's game after five pitches after feeling pain in his knee, was cleared by team doctors on Wednesday.

"It's a huge relief," Tolleson said.

Tolleson retired Jeudy Valdez to open the eighth inning on Tuesday against the Padres, but after just two pitches to Gregorio Petit, Tolleson felt something in his left knee that he never felt before.

"I just felt something move in my knee and felt a pain, so it kind of spooked me. I didn't want to test it or throw another pitch or anything. I came out of the game and they checked it out," Tolleson said. "Everything checked out good and clean. Today there is no swelling, no soreness, no nothing."

Tolleson participated in workouts on Wednesday, but only did light tossing, and no pitchers fielding practice.

"They're not getting any signs of anything major. He feels great today, no swelling. We'll get him out here and let him keep moving," said manager Don Mattingly.

Tolleson is expected to resume throwing in full on Thursday.

• Chris Withrow, sidelined for most of spring training with a bulging disc in his back, threw off a mound on Tuesday for the first time since getting hurt.
  
• Stephen Fife gets the call for the Dodgers against Mexico, and is expected to be followed on the mound by Brandon League, Kenley Jansen, J.P. Howell, and Zach Lee. It will be the second Cactus League appearance this year for Lee.
• Hyun-jin Ryu gets the start for the Dodgers in Glendale, and will be followed by Juan Abreu, Matt Palmer, Chris Reed, and Pedro Baez. It would be the second Cactus League appearance for Reed, and the first for Baez, who converted from third baseman to pitcher late in 2012.
• Also suited up from the minor league side for the Dodgers in Goodyear are pitchers Kelvin De La Cruz, (No. 67), Red Patterson (69) and Yimi Garcia (90); catcher Gorman Erickson (91), infielders Rafael Ynoa (82), Rusty Ryal (83), Miguel Rojas (84), Scott Van Slyke (94), and Chris Jacobs (98); and outfielders James Baldwin (88) and Joc Pederson (92).
  
• Justin Masterson starts for the Indians, and is expected to be followed on the mound by Rich Hill, Nick Hagadone, Matt Langwell, Preston Guilmet, and Scott Barnes.
• Daniel Rodriguez gets the start for Mexico, with a lineup that not only includes Dodgers teammates Adrian Gonzalez and Luis Cruz, but also old friend Karim Garcia.
