Dodgers host the Reds on a chilly windy night at Camelback Ranch; Chris Capuano takes the mound

The Dodgers have two games scheduled on Friday, the second time in three days they have a split squad. Days like these, with games against the Giants and Reds, the bulk of the 54 men remaining in major league camp are used, as are several from minor league camp. But that number will likely be trimmed within the next week.

Manager Don Mattingly said he will begin to see pitchers hit in games on Sunday, with no more designated hitter used by the Dodgers in games. That's one less spot for position players, and the need for players will also subside with the coming schedule.

Notes

  • Following Capuano will be Tolleson (38), Magill (80), Rodriguez (75), Guerrier (55), and Ames (79)
  • Hector Nelo (89), Rob Rasmussen (84), and Eric Eadington (88) are the minor league pitchers that came over tonight, the minor league players are catchers Griff Erickson (69), Chris O'Brien (95), infielders C.J. Retherford (90), Corey Seager (93), Rathjen (82), Darrell Sweeney (87), James Baldwin (91) and Scott Schebler (92)
