Manager Don Mattingly broke up a few of his regulars and semi-regulars on Saturday as the Dodgers host the Mariners at Camelback Ranch.
Jeremy Moore gets the start in center field, his second start there this spring. He has also started three games in left field and two in right field. He has played 17 innings so far in right field, 11 in left field, and nine in center field.
Skip Schumaker was originally on the list to start in center field, but manager Don Mattingly said he wanted to split up Schumaker and Mark Ellis so that Schumaker could see more time at second base this spring. In addition, catcher A.J. Ellis was originally slated to start but will instead start Sunday when the Dodgers head to Salt River Fields to play the Rockies.
"With split squads I didn't really worry about it, but I'll try to see a few major league guys when I can," said Mattingly.
Here are the starting lineups on Saturday:
Matt Kemp got just one at-bat on Friday, and is also scheduled to travel to Salt River Fields on Sunday. It will be the first time he plays three straight days, though with a bit of a respite as the designated hitter on Saturday.
Also scheduled in reserve for the Dodgers are Elian Herrera (CF), Brian Barden (2B), Joc Pederson (DH), Yasiel Puig (RF), Scott Van Slyke (1B), Alex Castellanos (LF), Jesus Flores (C), Omar Luna (3B), Miguel Rojas (SS), and Rafael Ynoa (SS).
