Joc Pederson, Scott Van Slyke among April Dodgers Pride award winners

Van Slyke is also reportedly on his way to Los Angeles, though it hasn't yet been announced by the Dodgers.

We knew that an outfielder would likely win the April Pride Award for Double-A Chattanooga, the awards given out monthly to pitchers and position players at each Dodgers minor league level who exhibit a hustling, smart, and aggressive style. But it wasn't 22-year-old Cuban sensation Yasiel Puig.

Joc Pederson, 21, hit .304/.381/.620 with six home runs and seven stolen bases in 24 games for Double-A Chattanooga and won the April Pride Award at that level, as did Zach Lee. The 21-year-old Lee was 2-1 with a 2.43 ERA in April with 23 strikeouts and seven walks in five starts.

For Triple-A Albuquerque, the Pride Award winners were Chris Withrow, who struck out 14 in 9⅔ scoreless innings, and Scott Van Slyke, who hit .419 with a Pacific Coast League-leading eight home runs in April. But for Van Slyke, he might get better news today, per St. Louis reporter Rob Rains.

While designating catcher Ramon Hernandez for assignment makes the most logical sense as a corresponding move, there hasn't been a ton of logic used of late in the Dodgers roster construction.

For Class-A Rancho Cucamonga, the April Pride Award winners were O`Koyea Dickson, who hit .305 with three home runs, and Michael Thomas, who was eight for eight in save opportunities and put up a 0.87 ERA.

The Class-A Great Lakes winners were catcher Tyler Ogle, who hit .338 with four home runs in April, and Carlos Frias, who was 3-0 with a 1.14 ERA and 21 strikeouts in four starts.

The monthly Pride Awards are voted on by the players and staff at each level.
