Dodgers vs. Rockies: Hyun Jin-Ryu scratched and Carl Crawford out

The injury woes continue for the Dodgers, therefore reestablishing winning ways could be a daunting task.

The Dodgers head into Sunday's rubber match against the Colorado Rockies at 9-16 on the road. Surprisingly the blue crew have found a way to win three of seven road series, yet getting swept three times tells the main story.

Don Mattingly will send Matt Magill to the mound on getaway day, while Walt Weis's ball club has Jorge De La Rosa pitching. The Dodgers were expecting Hyun Jin-Ryu to get the nod, but the rookie of the year candidate is battling a left foot contusion after getting hit last week against the Angels.

Rockies hitters probably wont admit it, but may be happy avoiding Ryu, because the team struck out 12 times against him in a 6-2 loss on April 30. Magill hasn't pitched in the big league's since May 19 at Atlanta, tossing five innings, allowing one earned run, three walks and striking out eight.

On the other side De La Rosa is 4-0 in his last five appearances, accumulating a solid overall record of 6-3 with a 3.16 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. Although, De La Rosa got dismantled by the Dodgers at Chavez Revine on April 30, giving up six earned runs on 11 hits in a mere four innings of work. The disappointing appearance by De La Rosa is becoming common against the Dodgers, posting a lifetime record of 0-8 with a 6.75 ERA.

Carl Crawford will not face De La Rosa, as the hamstring cramp from Saturday's loss spells for at least one day of rest before the long home stand. Nick Punto is replacing Crawford at the leadoff spot, which is only his fourth time doing so this year.

In other lineup news, Juan Uribe gets the start at third base over Jerry Hariston and bats second. Andre Ethier slides down to sixth in the order because of the southpaw De La Rosa, granting Scott Van Slyke with an opportunity to bat cleanup.

If the Dodgers can win Sunday, the season series would be tied up at three.
