Yasiel Puig had a pair of multi-hit games at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, plus a home run, a stolen base, and several wow moments.
Puig and Ichiro Suzuki filled the star void left by the depleted rosters of the Dodgers and Yankees on Wednesday, wrote Jay Jaffe at Sports Illustrated.
Yankees first baseman Lyle Overbay told Andy Martino of the New York Daily News that he said to the first base umpire, "I think (Puig) missed first, because he can’t be there that fast.’ We were both looking at him hitting first base, but..." Also, that link is worth reading for "POW!"
Puig "stole the show on the big stage" of Yankee Stadium wrote Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, while Zack Greinke told Heyman, "It's been like this every day" with Puig.
Puig was called both "Major League Baseball's future" and "the most electric player on the field" Wednesday by Kevin Kernan of the New York Post, while Dodgers CEO Stan Kasten told Kernan that Puig's "willingness to learn in conjunction with his physical talents should project into a very bright future."
Mark Simon of ESPN chimed in as well, showing just how effective Puig has been to open his career:

Finally, though it's not Puig related, David Davis went searching for Kirk Gibson's home run ball from Game 1 of the 1988 World Series. But what he found was something completely different.
