Dodgers vs. Padres: Zack Greinke returns to San Diego

Zack Greinke is new to the National League West, but already posses plenty of enemies.

The story of Zack Greinke during the 2013 season epitomizes the Dodgers problems. From underperformance to injury, Greinke could easily be the driving force behind it all. Greinke hasn't pitched at Petco park since the brawl on April 11, when he suffered a broken collarbone due to Carlos Quentin's football-esque tackle.

Quentin is back in the lineup after missing seven straight games.

Quentin is currently battling a shoulder injury and hadn't played since June 14, though he feels better and took batting practice for the first time in over a week Friday. In addition, Greinke and Quentin have talked since the incident, and appeared to solve their respective differences.

After signing a $147 million dollar deal, Greinke was expected to give the boys in blue the best 1-2 punch in baseball. Instead, Greinke only sports nine starts and an ERA of 4.22. Opposing the former Cy-Young winner will be Edinson Volquez.

Volquez, the 2008 all-star for the Cincinnati Reds, continues to be very inconsistent for the Padres. On the year, Volquez is 5-5 with an ERA of 5.84. The Dodgers haven't seen Volquez work to date, but went 2-1 against him over four outings last season.

Both sides have had ample time to calm down, yet baseball's unwritten rules could spell for more extracurricular fighting Saturday.

The San Diego bullpen, which recorded 27 outs Friday night after Clayton Richard felt pain in his shoulder, will receive reinforcements on Saturday. Both a Anthony Bass and Brad Boxberger will be recalled before the game, per Corey Brock of
