Minor League Player of the Day – Nick Buss (AAA) - 3 for 4, 2 3B's, 1 HR, 6 RBI's. Buss had a huge night at the plate on Monday to help lead his team to victory. The two triples give Nick three over the past two games, and his 11 homers lead the Isotopes.
AAA – The Isotopes walked away with a 10 - 9 victory over the Express (Rangers) on Monday. With the scored tied at nine heading into bottom of the 9th, Albuquerque didn't even need a hit to plate the winning run. After a couple of hit by pitches and a walk, the table was set for John Baker with one out. He proceeded to walk as well, however, giving the Topes the win. The real hero in this one, though, was Nick Buss who went 3 for 4 with two triples, a homer, and 6 RBI's. Elevys Gonzalez also took one deep, while Alex Castellanos scored three runs. Rehabbing outfielders Matt Kemp and Scott Van Slyke each had a double, while Kemp also walked and stole a base. Starter Johnathan Sanchez got rocked in his Albuquerque debut, giving up 6 runs on 7 hits over just 3 frames. Anthony Ortega also struggled, but Jose Dominguez had another scoreless outing as he struck out 2 over 1.2 hitless innings to record his first AAA win.
AA – Zach Lee rebounded nicely from his rough outing last Wednesday, but the Lookouts still lost to the Biscuits (Rays) 5 to 4 in 10 innings. Lee wasn't overly dominant as he allowed 6 hits and 2 walks over 6 frames while striking out 4, but he permitted just two runs to score to keep his team in the game. A trio of relievers gave up a run each, including one in the 9th by Hector Nelo and another by Luis Vasquez in the 10th which turned out to be the game winner. At the plate J.T. Wise drove in 3 of the 4 runs for Chattanooga with a single and a homer, and Angelo Songco recorded the other RBI by going 3 for 4 with a triple. Brian Cavazos-Galvez also had a nice game as well as he singled twice and doubled, but Joc Pederson went 0 for 5.
HiA – The Quakes continued their free fall on Monday as their 3 - 1 defeat to the 66ers (Angles) marks their 7th straight loss. The offense was to blame in this one as the Rancho lineup had just 6 hits in this game, all singles. Scott Schebler went 2 for 4 for the only multi-hit game and Webster Rivas drove in the only run. Jon Michael Redding, who this thrived in relief this season, made his first start of the year and threw relatively well as he allowed just 1 run over 3.1 frames, although he did give up 4 hits and 4 walks. Raydel Sanchez punched out 5 over 2.2 scoreless innings of relief, but Freddie Cabrera gave up the final two runs in the 8th and took the loss
LoA – The Loons had just 3 hits on Monday in a 2 - 1 loss to the Silver Hawks (Dbacks). Despite the lack of offense Great Lakes actually had a chance at the game in the 9th after they scored their lone run on a RBI single by Tyler Ogle, but Corey Seager completed his 0 for 4 day by grounding into a double play to end the game. Ryan Garvey had the only other notable game at the plate as he singled, walked twice, stole a base, and scored the only run. Zach Bird threw 5 inning sin this one, but took the loss after allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. He did strike out 6, however, and walked just 1. Arismendy Ozoria and Scott Griggs threw two shutout innings each, with Griggs punching out 4 in the process while lowering his ERA to 2.67.
Rookie Ogden – Postponed due to power outage
Rookie Arizona – Off day
DSL – The Dominican Dodgers were held without an extra base hit on Monday as they lost to the Rays 7 to 4. Jose Luis Javier and Ariel Sandoval both went 2 for 4, while Dennis Santana drove in a team high 2 runs with a single and a sacrifice fly. Starter Francisco Martinez permitted his first two earned runs of the season, and five in total, as he threw 5 innings. Mario Querales was solid in relief with 2 perfect innings.
Coming up – According to today's Great Lakes game notes, the Dodgers first two picks in the 2013 draft are expected to make a piggy back start on Tuesday, with Chris Anderson taking the mound first to be followed by Tom Windle. Chris Reed starts for the Lookouts, Garrett Gould gets the ball for the Quakes, Aaron Laffey throws for the Isotopes, and Luis De Paula will start one of the two games for the Raptors.

Reliever Kyle Cofield has been promoted to Albuquerque, Sean White was activated from the DL, and catcher Damaso Espino was added to the roster as was Jonathan Sanchez. To make room Matt Wallach was sent back to AA, Matt Magill and Steve Cilladi were placed on the DL, and Jeremy Moore was sent to Arizona on a rehab assignment.
