A pair of Great Lakes Loons gave the Dodgers two prospects ranked in the top 41 in all of baseball by Baseball Prospectus.

Jason Parks at Baseball Prospectus released his Top 50 midseason prospects on Tuesday, and a pair of Dodgers made meteoric rises for inclusion. Shortstop and 2012 first-round draft pick Corey Seager and 16-year-old Mexican pitching import Julio Urias, neither of whom were named by Parks in the preseason top 101, made it into the top 50.

Yasiel Puig, who was ranked No. 79 in the preseason by Parks, doesn't quite have the 130 at-bats to exhaust rookie status, but is close enough and is clearly a major league player now for Parks not to include on his list.

"This list is about prospects, not major-league players masquerading as prospects because they fall just short of such recognized classifications," Parks wrote.

Seager checked in at No. 35 and was described by Parks as a "highly skilled offensive threat" and someone who should have been ranked higher coming into the season. Seager, 19, is hitting .293/.355/.513 with Class-A Great Lakes, including 7-for-19 (.368) with three home runs and eight RBI in five games since his return to the lineup on June 20.

Urias, who has a 3.74 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 21⅔ innings with Great Lakes, is No. 41 and at 16 years old, by far the youngest player on the list. Of Urias Parks wrote, "His ultimate upside is still very abstract, but his prospect star is very much on the rise."

Zach Lee, who was ranked No. 87 in Parks' preseason rankings, was listed as someone who narrowly missed the cut for the midseason top 50.
