Dodgers vs. Giants TV schedule & starting pitching matchups

The Dodgers are 6-6 against the Giants this season, including 4-2 at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers welcome the rival Giants to town for four games at Dodger Stadium, beginning Thursday night. Here is a look at the pitching matchups for the series, which do not include the nearly-perfect Yusmeiro Petit, who is 3-0 with a 2.53 ERA for San Francisco.

Thursday, 7:10 p.m. (Prime Ticket)

Zack Greinke hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start since July 25, and he has allowed just 15 total runs in his last 12 starts. The last time the Dodgers faced Matt Cain, on July 5 in San Francisco, they handed him the worst start of his career, tagging him for eight runs in under three innings. Cain spent 15 days on the disabled list after getting hit by a line drive in his right forearm but returned to allow two runs in a loss to Atlanta on Saturday.

Friday, 7:10 p.m. (Prime Ticket)

Clayton Kershaw has allowed four runs in four starts this season against the Giants and has allowed 25 runs in 20 career starts against San Francisco. Madison Bumgarner has a 3.27 ERA in his last seven starts but doesn't have a win to show for it thanks to 18 total runs of support. The Giants are 1-6 during that span.

Saturday, 6:10 p.m. (Prime Ticket)

In a turn of events that would have seemed unlikely before this season, Ricky Nolasco will likely end up signing a contract for more money this winter than fellow free-agent-to-be Tim Lincecum. Nolasco has won seven straight decisions and is 8-1 with a 2.07 ERA as a Dodger. Lincecum has been up and down since his no-hitter, with five starts allowing two or fewer runs and five starts with 27 runs allowed in 28⅔ innings.

Sunday, 1:10 p.m. (Prime Ticket)

Edinson Volquez has allowed 13 runs in 16 innings in three starts against the Giants this season. Ryan Vogelsong is 1-1 with a 4.24 ERA in seven starts since returning from the DL on Aug. 9.
