MLB standings 2013: Dodgers, Pirates, Cardinals tied for No. 2 NL seed

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

The Dodgers hold the tiebreaker over both the Pirates (Dodgers won five of seven head-to-head contests) and Cardinals (won four of seven).

The Dodgers didn't get any closer to a National League West title on Saturday, and are now tied with National League Central rivals Pittsburgh and St. Louis for the No. 2 seed in the National League.

Here is a recap of Saturday's relevant action.

Giants 19, Dodgers 3: One team set a record for the most runs scored in a game at Dodger Stadium, and it wasn't the home team. The Dodgers had a lost night, failing to drop their magic number and falling three games back of Atlanta for the top record in the NL.

Diamondbacks 9, Rockies 2: Aaron Hill had three hits, including a home run, and Miguel Montero had three hits and scored twice to lead Arizona to a blowout win over the Rockies.

Mariners 4, Cardinals 2: Kendrys Morales went 2-for-4 with a home run and James Paxton picked up his second win in as many big league starts to lead Seattle to a win in St. Louis, dropping the Cardinals into a tie with Pittsburgh atop the NL Central.

Pirates 2, Cubs 1: Gerrit Cole struck out seven over seven innings and Pittsburgh rode solo home runs from Marlon Byrd and Jose Tabata to a victory and a share of the division lead.

Reds 7, Brewers 3: Cincinnati got home runs from Joey Votto and Shin-Soo Choo to beat Milwaukee and pull to within 2½ games of the NL Central lead.

Braves 2, Padres 1: Kris Medlen pitched shutout ball into the eighth inning to lead Atlanta to a win and a three game lead over the Dodgers, Cardinals and Pirates for best record in the league. The win, coupled with the Dodgers' loss, snapped a 12-day stretch in which the Dodgers and Braves had the same outcome each day. Atlanta's magic number to clinch the NL East is four.

Phillies 5, Nationals 4: Carlos Ruiz hit a three-run double to key a four-run fourth inning, snapping Washington's winning streak at seven and putting the Nationals a step closer to elimination.
