Corey Seager headlines 4 Dodgers in MLB.com top 100 prospects

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

There is seemingly a general consensus of the top four Dodgers prospects, but the top spot is different depending on the source.

Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager was named the top prospect in the organization by MLB.com on Thursday, headlining a quartet of Dodgers in the top 64 prospects in baseball according to the site.

MLB.com revealed its top 100 prospects in baseball, headed by outfielder Byron Buxton of the Twins, and discussed in depth the top 50 prospects on MLB Network as well.

Seager was rated as the No. 34 prospect in the game after the 19-year-old hit .269/.351/.473 with 16 home runs and 20 doubles in 101 games between Class-A Great Lakes and advanced Class-A Rancho Cucamonga. He hit just .160/.246/.320 in 27 games with the Quakes but was the youngest player in the California League after his promotion.

Outfielder Joc Pederson was ranked No. 36, while pitchers Zach Lee (No. 63) and Julio Urias (No. 64) round out the Dodgers in the top 100.

It is interesting that between MLB.com, Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus, three different players were tabbed as the top prospect on the Dodgers. Pederson, who turns 22 in April, headed the BA list, followed by Seager, Urias and Lee. The 17-year-old Urias grabbed the top spot from BP, followed by Seager, Pederson and Lee.

Pederson and Lee will open their spring training in big league camp with the Dodgers as non-roster invitees.
