SportsNet LA programming announced

The new network will feature games, interviews, analysis, behind the scenes access, and more.

GLENDALE -- The Dodgers on Friday announced the programming lineup for SportsNet LA, their new network set to launch on Feb. 25. In addition to live games, here are the other staple programs planned:

"Backstage: Dodgers"

This will be a weekly documentary series. The debut episode will air on Feb. 25, and feature Clayton Kershaw from November finding out he won the 2013 National League Cy Young Award, plus other footage from the first few weeks of spring training.

"Access SportsNet: Dodgers"

The daily live studio show will air nightly during spring training for one hour, then transition as the 30-minute pre- and post-game show during the season. John Hartung will anchor the show from the El Segundo studios, and the show will feature Orel Hershiser, Jerry Hairston, Nomar Garciaparra and Alanna Rizzo.

"Leadoff LA"

This 30-minute show will be the pre-game pre-show hosted by Hartung and Rizzo, and will feature commentary and interaction with social media.

"Dodgers Clubhouse"

Hosted by Rizzo, this half-hour show will run on Mondays and feature interviews, features, and a one-on-one segment with manager Don Mattingly.

"Connected with ..."

An in-depth interview series. The first two episodes will feature Clayton Kershaw and Don Mattingly, with broadcast details to be announced at a later date.

Other shows & notes

  • Every game will be replayed, both as a complete game including post-game analysis and as a condensed one-hour version called "Dodgers Squeeze Play." The latter will also include "the sights and sounds viewers didn’t catch while watching the live game."
  • Roundtable discussions between Dodgers personalities and legends, called "Talkin' Blue"
  • Dodgers countdown shows
  • Hour-long documentaries of Dodgers greats, called "Dodgermentary"
  • Classic games (no details as of yet), called "Timeless Dodgers"
