Dan Haren faces Josh Collmenter in series finale in Phoenix

Christian Petersen

The Dodgers hope to avoid using Drew Butera as a pitcher for a third time in five days in the series finale against the Diamondbacks on Sunday in Phoenix.

The Dodgers find themselves in the rare position of trying to finish off a week at 4-2 despite a pair of losses by double-digit runs. Dan Haren will try to hold Arizona under 18 runs on Sunday.

It is the third start of the year against the Diamondbacks for Haren, who has two wins despite a pair of rough outings. Haren allowed three runs on 10 hits in 5⅔ innings in Phoenix on April 13, the only one of Haren's eight starts this year that wasn't a quality start. He also allowed five runs in 7⅓ innings six days later in Los Angeles, though still technically a quality start because just two runs were earned.

Chris Owings is 6-for-8 with two doubles lifetime against Haren, and he gets the start at shortstop, batting second.

Matt Kemp is the odd man out in the Dodgers outfield, getting a day off on Sunday despite being 3-for-7 (.429) with a home run against Diamondbacks starter Josh Collmenter. Andre Ethier is 5-for-11 (.455) with two doubles and a walk against Collmenter.

The Dodgers beat Collmenter on April 20 at Dodger Stadium, scoring four runs in six innings off the right-hander, the highlight a three-run home run by Yasiel Puig, who takes various streaks into Sunday's game.

Butera starts at catcher, giving A.J. Ellis a day off.
