No hitter for Josh Beckett, Dodgers win 6-0

Josh Beckett - Hunter Martin

Josh Beckett made his 20th career start against the Phillies a great one as he pitches the first no-hitter in the majors this year.

Josh Beckett had not pitched well on road this year but today he was near-perfect.  Beckett gave up just 3 walks in the 30 batters he faced, he retired 23 batters in a row from the 2nd to the 9th inning before walking Jimmy Rollins with two out.  Chase Utley got the count to 3-1 but then Beckett threw a curve ball for called strike 2 and then got Utley with fastball down in strike zone for called strike 3 and the no-hitter was in the books.

There will be more later, along with a recap of the game.
