Ramirez bats second for the second time since joining the Dodgers.

DENVER -- Dodgers manager Don Mattingly shook up the lineup a little bit for the series opener against the Rockies at Coors Field, moving Hanley Ramirez up to batting second for just the second time as a Dodger.

Ramirez has started batting second just one other time with Los Angeles, on May 1, 2013, when he went 3-for-4 with a double in a loss to the Rockies at Dodger Stadium. In Ramirez's 55 previous starts this season, he batted third 47 times and clenup eight times.

Yasiel Puig returns to the third spot in the batting order, where he started for 12 straight games before Wednesday and hit .386/.471/.614 (17-for-44) with five doubles, a home run and a triple.

The rest of the Dodgers lineup is relatively normal, with Andre Ethier in center field, Justin Turner at third base, and Drew Butera behind the plate. Since A.J. Ellis - who took early batting practice Friday at Coors Field, per David Vassegh of Dodger Talk - went on the disabled list with a right ankle sprain, this is the 10th start for Butera in 11 games.

Broadcast note

With no Vin Scully on this seven-game road trip to Colorado and Cincinnati, Nomar Garciaparra will shift to the television side, giving the Dodgers a three-man SportsNet LA broadcast booth along with Charley Steiner and Orel Hershiser, plus Alanna Rizzo on news. Kevin Kennedy will join Rick Monday on radio for all seven games of the trip.
